A Message From LCS
Dear Parents,
We are thrilled to welcome your child(ren) to the LCS for the back-to-school on the 18th of august and we thank you for your trust.
Please find below some practical information regarding the start of the school year before meeting either on May 28 or on August 13 during a pre-back-to-school meeting which will allow you to prepare for your child(ren)'s return to school with peace of mind.
This meeting will allow you to visit our premises and meet our team, who will be happy to answer all your questions.
Meanwhile, we invite you to get in touch with the association Parents&Friends who will be happy to welcome you into our community and help you settle in Sydney.

Welcome Meetings
Two welcome meetings are organized to help you prepare for the start of the school year:
The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 28. It is aimed at families already settled in Australia.
The second will be held on Wednesday, August 13. It is planned for families who could not attend in May or who are arriving later in the year.
It is not necessary (or useful) to attend both meetings: please only come to the one that applies to your situation.

Updating personal information: it's important
New parents : have you thought about ...?
Eduka is the portal that contains all the data relating to your child's file and their guardians. It is essential to keep it up to date throughout your child's schooling (contact details, authorizations, visas, etc.).
Before the start of the school year, we kindly ask you to review your space in order to complete any missing mandatory data and upload the documents required for registration (vaccination record, exit certificate, grade advancement certification if applicable...).
- Exit certificate from past school (if applicable)
- Grade advancement certification (if required)
- Copy of visa (if applicable)
- Residential Address in NSW
- Up-to-date phone number and email address
- Inform the school about specific needs (dietary, health, education).
Informations
Preschool: LCS is continuing the pilot project of mixed-age classes in 2025/2026.
Following the example of several schools in the AEFE network, LCS has implemented a pilot project of mixed-age classes in preschool.
After a period of reflection and consultation, LCS brought this initiative to life by launching three mixed-age classes at the start of the 2024 school year, bringing together students from Petite Section (PS), Moyenne Section (MS), and Grande Section (GS/Kindy).
The project will continue in 2025/2026 with the same structure:
- One PS/MS class (Petite Section / Moyenne Section)
- Two PS/MS/GS classes
All students are expected to join these classes where the curriculum is taught in the same way. The mixed-age setup allows for a competency-based approach, where each child progresses at their own pace, taking into account their personal development and prior knowledge.
How does it work? For which students? What are the benefits? What practical questions arise? You will learn everything during the two back-to-school meetings offered to parents, during which you can attend presentations by the Principal, Mr. L’Hotellier, and the Primary School Director, Mr. Possenti.
Canteen Enrollment 1st semester 2026-2027
The registrations for the canteen will be open on Please ensure that your Eduka account is up to date and that all fees for the 2025–2026 academic year have been settled. on Wednesday, June 4th. We invite you to complete the canteen module for the first semester of 2025/2026 no later than August 10th.
You can register your child for the package 3 or 5 days per week. If you do not wish your child to have lunch at the cafeteria, please enrol them in the "no cafeteria" option. In this case, you will need to provide them with a cold or warm meal in a suitable container, utensils, and a water bottle.
Please note :
Enrolment of maternelle students in the 5-day meal plan is mandatory and automatic. There is no need to fill out this module.
For secondary school students awaiting their schedules, please indicate the desired days on the module in advance. You will have the opportunity to modify them during the week when your schedule is handed out at the beginning of the school year.
AES / Garderie
We offer 3 after-school activity and care options at LCS:
- PS-MS Daycare 3:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
- GS-CM2 AES 3:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
- GS-CM2 TeamKids 3:25 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Uniforms
Maternelle:
In Maternelle, students will receive three polo shirts and one hat in class on their first day of school. Wearing both the polo and the hat is compulsory everyday.
Elementary and Secondary:
Deux polos, un short et une casquette ou chapeau vous seront remis lors de la réunion d’informations le 13 août. Si vous ne pouvez pas y astend, the uniform will be distributed in class on the first day of school.
Wearing a hat while outside is compulsory, and the school uniform is compulsory on days when students practice sport or have an excursion.
If the uniforms that you are given do not fit, you can change them at the school reception. Please leave the tags on if you wish to exchange them.

Associations
The Parents & Friends" aims to create meaningful connections between LCS parents, community members, and new families through events (barbecues, bake sales, ride2schools), by running a P&F Facebook page and by organising a babysitting and tutoring phonebook that helps our families immensely. Join the group and ask your questions there!
> The P&F Association will be present at the welcome meetings in June and August to answer any questions you might have about life as an LCS parent.

Sydney Accueil main missions are to welcome French and Francophone people settling in Sydney, to create social connections within the expatriate community, and to facilitate meetings and sharing of experiences.
