Halloween Trivia night

On October 25, the IB Year 12 class hosted an amazing Halloween trivia night for LCS parents and students.

Thanks to everyone’s participation, we raised over $1,000 for breast cancer research as well as for the Year 12 End-of-Year Gala.

A big thank you to the organisers and everyone who contributed to making this evening a success!

Sport

A busy month for our LCS swimmers!

Last month was very intense for our LCS swimmers, with three consecutive big weekends at Olympic Park in Homebush for the Metro South East championships and the NSW long course qualifiers.

We are also excited to share the results of the 2024-2025 Speedo NSW Senior State Age QTs relay! The 12-14 Girls Relay Team (Scarlett, Sophie, Dina, and Emmeline) achieved the State Relay qualification time with an impressive time of 2:08.73 (State QT is 2:18.00) in the 4x50m. Their individual times were outstanding, and they were very pleased with their performances.

We now have a great opportunity to qualify even more swimmers for the NSW championships, either in individual events or relays, at the upcoming swim meet at Cranbrook on November 10. Some swimmers have already met the required times, while others are very close and still have the chance to achieve them.

Also, find us at the CAPN booth at the French Christmas Market!

ECO LCS

First eco-committee meeting

A huge thank you to the parents, teachers, administration members, and especially to the students for their enthusiasm and inspiring ideas during the first meeting of the eco-committee.

The next step is to collectively choose three major priority themes for our community and engage the school in a concrete action plan, with objectives that the eco-committee will define. The eco-delegates will meet this week for their first working session.

The Aeronautics Initiation Certificate:

If your child is interested in training in aeronautics and aerospace, wishes to develop their curiosity for mathematics and sciences, or wants to stand out during the PARCOURSUP application process, they have the opportunity to take the Aeronautics Initiation Certificate (BIA) as an independent candidate starting from Year 10 or prepare for it through a structured program. Approximately 40 hours are required to get acquainted with the scientific and technical culture of aeronautics and space. The BIA is a diploma from the National Education, and the exam is conducted in the form of a multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ). It usually takes place on a Wednesday in May and is organised under the responsibility of each academic authority. Once the BIA is obtained, all federations encourage flight training through various aids. For more information, we recommend exploring the following websites: EDUSCOL - FRANCE BIA
