A message From LCS

Dear Parents,

As expected, the National Education Minister in France has announced that starting from the 2024 baccalauréat sessions, which our Y12 students will take, the specialty exams will be held at the end of the school year, rather than in March as was the case in the previous session.

The objective is to keep students fully committed until the end of the year, as some institutions, although not ours, had observed an increase in absenteeism among their students.

The objective is to keep students fully committed until the end of the year, as some institutions, although not ours, had observed an increase in absenteeism among their students. Regarding our students, this calendar change will effectively concentrate the final exams towards the end of the year, somewhat resembling the format of the baccalauréat before the 2018 reform. As the head teachers mentioned during the back-to-school presentation meeting held last Tuesday, these changes were widely expected and will indeed lead us to reconsider how the preparation for the oral examination will be coordinated with that of the specialty exams, in order to ensure an optimal preparation for our high school students.

Thank you, have a great week.

Nicolas l’Hotellier

Enrollment for the Defense and Citizenship Day is required for every child from the age of 16 onwards (a certificate of enrollment is required when registering for
the baccalaureate exams).
Lastly, if you wish to return to France, this registration will allow you to easily obtain a certificate of change of residence free of charge.

La philosophie est à l’honneur au LCS

We would like to pay tribute to the excellent results achieved by last year's year 12 class. Our students achieved an overall average of 14,64almost three points above the overall average for the Asia-Pacific region (11.78).
Besides, 7 out of 25 students scored 19 out of 20. This is quite impressive.
The LCS Terminale (year 12) was thus one of the best classes, if not the best class in philosophy in the whole zone.
Such results are a beautiful and fair reward for the students. Moreover, the skills acquired in the philosophy class will undoubtedly be a valuable asset for those who are attending preparatory classes for top-tier universities, aspiring to enter Sciences Po, law, or even medicine.
What is little known is that the LCS offers students taking the French « bac » privileged conditions for studying philosophy.
From the première (Y11) year onwards, they are given an introduction to the subject. It's reasonable to assume that this strategy has paid off.
Gageons que les élèves actuels de terminale auront, en juin prochain, des résultats aussi bons que leurs aînés !

The LCS extends its gratitude to Gabriel Gay-Para, certified philosophy professor at LCS, for his guidance in leading our students towards the pursuit of excellence.
