School fees invoices for the 1st semester 2024-2025 will be sent by email on 14th June 2024 and will also be available on your Please ensure that your Eduka account is up to date and that all fees for the 2025–2026 academic year have been settled..

Canteen enrolment - 1st semester 2024-2025
Canteen registration will open on the canteen module on your Please ensure that your Eduka account is up to date and that all fees for the 2025–2026 academic year have been settled. portal will be open from Monday 10th June at 8pm for registrations for the 1st semester 2024-25. Registrations will close on 11/08/2024.
Attention : Canteen registrations for this semester will not be carried over to next year. Don't forget to register your children as soon as the module opens for the new school year 2024-25.
Last days - LCS Financial Assistance 2024/25 : application deadline - 31/05/24
If you are in a difficult financial situation, an application for financial assistance can be submitted to the financial department. This assistance is granted subject to conditions. Please contact accounts.ar@condorcet.com.au in order to put together an application form for the school fees 2024-25.
AES - News 2024-2025
Great news: We are offering 400 spots and 50% more sports activities.
Planning
- Display date on the 7th of June
- Registrations open on the 10th of June at 8:30 PM
- Registration closes on the 10th of August at 11PM
- Activities start on the first day of school, Monday August 19, and end with the Christmas vacations on Friday December 20.
Progression
To facilitate student progress, priority will be given until Wednesday, June 12 at 9 a.m. to students registered for the 2nd semester 2023-2024 for the following activities: music - coding - danceAcro Intermediate (CE1 - CM2) and painting.
- Musical activities are now included in the AES module
- Cancellations and changes are not possible after the registration deadline.
- Pick-ups will no longer be allowed on AES time
Aftercare for the 2024-2025 School Year
We are pleased to announce the details regarding the childcare service for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
Here is the schedule for registrations and activities:

Activities Schedule:
The activities will commence on the first day of school, Monday, August 19, 2024, and will conclude with the Christmas holidays on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Registrations for the Holidays
Registration for the daycare during the October and November holidays will open on August 26, 2024.
We invite you to register your children as soon as registration opens to secure their spot.
European Elections
The European elections Sunday 9th of June 2024.
The polling stations will be open from 8AM to 6PM.
Proxy voting can be arranged until June 7, 2024.

Parents & Friends association
In order to welcome new families and start the school year with a new team, the Parents & Friends association proposes to postpone its Annual General Meeting from June 2024 to September 2024.
We invite you to participate in the next P&F meeting on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 9:15 AM in the canteen to vote on this proposal. We encourage you to attend this meeting if you wish to join the P&F executive team (President, Treasurer, Secretary, or Activities Coordinator for events organized by the association: School Fair, Second-hand Uniform Sales, Second-hand Book Sales, Garage Sale, etc.).
Student Feedback Initiative
Enhancing Our School Through Your Insights Texte As part of our continuous improvement process, we have arranged for students (CM2 – Year 12) to provide us with feedback relating to their views of the School across a wide range of areas. The research is being conducted by MMG Education, a specialist education consultancy that works with schools in the areas of school strategic reviews and stakeholder satisfaction. MMG's client schools include many schools across Australia.
Students will be invited to complete questionnaires over a two-week period commencing on 29 May 2024.
In the coming days, MMG Education will email students an invitation to participate in the review and provide confidential, secure access to the questionnaire.
Resources have been scheduled so that students will be able to complete the questionnaire at school.
To ensure confidentiality and to encourage frank and full expression of views:
· All responses will be de-identified.
· The data will be reported back in aggregated form only.
· All data collected by MMG Education will remain under its control and archived according to research protocols. The School will not be able to access it.
At the conclusion of the research period, MMG Education will provide the school with a report. We will then provide opportunities for members of the School community to receive feedback from the research.

Student support - expression of interest
We invite expressions from the community for someone to support a student with specific needs on a part-time basis, in school during school time.
This person will not be employed by the school but directly by the family of the student.

Sports Carnival
We are delighted to share with you the exciting day that our students experienced during our competition at Snape Park last week.
Divided into three houses: Blue, Red, and Green, they competed throughout the day with enthusiasm and sportsmanship in seven different events.
Congratulations to the Green team for their victory, and a big thank you to the organising team for their excellent work.

Participation in the Great Science Challenge
As every year, our school has participated in a major science challenge. This year, students from preschool to 5th grade brilliantly constructed ecological catapults. By rigorously following the scientific approach, they accomplished a beautiful project, combining creativity and environmental consciousness.

Finals of the "Golden words": Follow Our Students Live!
We are delighted to announce that seven of our 8th-grade students will be participating in the grand finale of the "Golden Words", the Thursday 30th of May 2024 from 10PM (Sydney time).

This final will be broadcasted simultaneously with participants from Mexico, France, Morocco, Mali, Gabon, and Australia. We wish good luck to Gaia, Margaux, Alexis, Mathieu, Clément, Mael, and Ashmore!

Sport
Badminton
On Sunday, May 19th, the students from the badminton sports section participated in the inter-school tournament organised by NSW Badminton. This event brought together many schools from the region, providing a great opportunity for our young athletes to put their training into practice.
Our students showed great determination and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the competition. They were able to compete against quality opponents and experience intense moments on the courts.
The 1st Division girls' and boys' teams finished in second place. The 2nd Division boys' team claimed the top spot on the podium, while the 2nd Division girls' team finished in second place.
We would like to congratulate all the participants for their efforts, dedication, and excellent results. A big thank you also to NSW Badminton for organising this event.

Handball - Article written by students
As female handball players who had the chance to watch our boys' team play last Wednesday, we experienced some incredible moments. Each match is a rollercoaster of emotions: we shout, we sing, we applaud, and sometimes, we hold our breath. When our team scores a goal, we feel proud. And even when things don't go as planned, we're still there, united, ready to cheer even louder for our team in the next match. Each game is an adventure where we feel like an integral part of the team, our support playing a role in their motivation and success. We feel like we're part of something big, a big family united by the same passion. Today, we have a dream: to see a women's handball team for 2025. We know there are plenty of talented and athletic girls who deserve to shine. So, if you want to experience unforgettable moments and be part of this great adventure, join us! Together, we can create a fantastic women's team, ready to conquer the courts and represent LCS for the first time!

Events at LCS
Construction as a career- presented by Dominique Gill, LCS alumni.
Dominique is the founder and MD of Urban Core, a construction company based in Surry Hills. She will be presenting to Year 11 and any interested students and parents on Wednesday 5 June at 12pm in D118 about the diverse range of career opportunities, and in particular those available for women.

Professor Ben Voyer, ESCP, visit to LCS next Monday 3 June at 5.30pm
Professor Voyer is returning to LCS to present to ANY interested student on the topic “Demystifying Interviews and University Admission’’. This presentation is not particular to any university as Professor Voyer has worked in many European countries and universities.
The presentation will provide great insight and tips into these two topics. You are encouraged to email the Orientation department with any questions beforehand.

Summer Engineering Camp (December) for Year 11 Students
Dates: From Sunday 1st to Friday 6th December 2024
For whom? 80 to 90 Year 12 students (sitting HSC or equivalent in 2025)

ESS2024 is supported by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer, five of NSW's key engineering universities, and the engineering profession.
This intensive 5-day program includes visits to five universities and five projects or iconic engineering organisations. Students will have the opportunity to meet over 150 engineers and engineering students across various disciplines.
Accommodation: Students will stay on the University of Sydney campus from Sunday, December 1st, with all meals provided.
Attention: Students will need to obtain permission to be absent from school.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Research provides high school students with a training website for the admission phase.
They can now practice responding to wishes on Parcoursup. The goal of this site is to allow them to prepare as best as possible for the functioning of this admission phase, which will open on May 30th. https://entrainement.parcoursup.fr/Candidat/authentification?ACTION=31
No Erasmus for the United Kingdom.
The European Commission proposed on April 20th to allow young people aged 18 to 30 to study again in the United Kingdom for a period of up to 4 years. However, London made the decision to reject this project and to withdraw from Erasmus+.
Obtaining a student visa will therefore be more complex.

Message from our eco-committee : Solidarity -New Caledonia
We had the immense pleasure of inaugurating a brand-new Francophone library/playroom at the Ronald McDonald House in Westmead.
The project is part of the Solidarity Day and is the result of a collaboration between the secondary eco-delegates (supervised by Laurence Irwin) and the “Back on Track” program at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (supervised byJustine Verreydt). Back on Track provides comprehensive educational support to children and adolescents – including from New Caledonia – who have been diagnosed with cancer and are receiving vital treatment. This service is an essential component of the family care provided at the hospital’s Cancer Centre for Children. The primary goal of this project was to collect donations of books and games for the children and to foster a spirit of solidarity with them. This new recreational space will benefit all New Caledonian families during their hospital stay in Westmead. Among the donations, a few books from the Parents & Friends association were also generously offered. Alongside this collection, a bake sale was organised to raise funds. This initiative highlights the importance of collective mobilisation to offer some comfort and entertainment to hospitalised children. Therefore, this project is a wonderful demonstration of commitment and solidarity.

WWF Certificate for LCS Eco-Delegates
We are thrilled to announce that our eco-delegates have been awarded a certificate from WWF for their outstanding efforts in whale conservation. Thanks to the baking talents and dedication of our students, the primary eco-delegates successfully raised funds through a cake sale for WWF.

Today, spotlight on Gunther, our talented chef.
Gunther, much like his namesake from Central Perk in Friends, has perked up our school with his incredible culinary talents.
He has been delighting us with his cuisine for the past 15 months. Originally from Austria, Gunther has been living in Australia for over 30 years, where he has owned and managed several popular restaurants. In addition to his passion for cooking, he loves Formula 1 racing.
We are grateful to have him among us and to enjoy his delicious lunches in joy and good camaraderie.
