« LCS News » the Podcast of the Primary students

We are delighted to present the very first episode of “LCS News”, a radio show created by the primary school students of Lycée Condorcet. This project aims to share school life with you while following the conventions of a real radio program.

For this debut episode, our young reporters faced several challenges, including technical difficulties during the recordings, which resulted in varying sound quality. Nonetheless, their dedication, enthusiasm, and creativity deserve to be celebrated.

We hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as the students enjoyed creating it. Thank you for encouraging them in this exciting adventure, which helps them develop their communication skills, teamwork, and public speaking abilities.

LCS Info & Parents Meetings

French Scholarship 2025-2026

The first 2025-2026 campaign for French scholarship is now open. This concerns both renewals and first-time applications for families already residing in Australia. The deadline for submitting complete applications to the Consulate General is Friday, February 21st, 2025.

All details, brochures, and required documents can be downloaded on the Consulate's website . Please make sure to read all the instructions carefully. Any incomplete or incorrect application may be deferred or rejected. It is not necessary to schedule an appointment with the Consulate.

You can submit your application via France Transfert .

IMPORTANT :

No scholarship application will be considered if the student is not a current student at LCS or on pending arrival status (i.e., after the school has confirmed the child’s enrollment for 2025-2026).

Financial Assistance 2025-2026

If you are in a difficult financial situation, we invite you to contact accounts.ar@condorcet.com.au in order to put together an application for financial assistance for the school year 2025/2026. This financial assistance is reserved for families who are not eligible for the French scholarships. Some conditions apply and any incomplete or incorrect application may be rejected.

Reminder If you have RSVP'd yes, don't forget to register your children for the daycare set up for the occasion. Any child registered for the daycare must have had dinner before being dropped off. Possibility to pay on-site.

Warning: Given the composition of the galette (tree nuts: almonds), wipes will be provided to limit the spread of allergenic components. We thank you for your understanding and kindness in preserving the well-being of everyone.

Volunteers Needed for the Athletic Carnival

Message from Mr. Patrice Possenti, Principal of the Primary School:

Dear Parents,

We are thrilled to announce that our Athletic Carnival will take place on Wednesday, 16th April, at Snape Park, and we need YOU to help make it an amazing day!

This all-day event (9 AM – 2 PM) promises to be a fantastic experience for the students, filled with excitement, teamwork, and fun outdoor activities. However, to ensure the success of this event, we rely on the active involvement of our parent community.

We are looking for parent volunteers to:

• Follow a team throughout the day and cheer them on, or

• Lead an activity and bring the event to life.

Your participation is not only essential to the smooth running of the event but also a wonderful opportunity to share in the joy and energy of the day with your child and their peers.

If you’re available to help, please register no later than 24th February.

Art Exhibition by IB Year 12 Students

As every year, with the support of their teacher, Madame Mills, the IB students had the opportunity to create and present their works at an art exhibition. This project, which reflects their creativity, passion, and dedication, is the result of many hours of work and reflection.

We invite you to come and discover their masterpieces and celebrate together the talent and originality of our young artists at the Coma Gallery in Marickville!

The Year 5 students on stage with Le Petit Prince

As part of an educational project led by their teacher, Rémi Jarre, the 6A and 6B classes adapted Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry into a play. The goal: to combine literature, theater, and creativity, while addressing key themes from the 6th-grade curriculum, such as friendship, solitude, and the search for meaning.

Divided into pairs, the students worked on adapting certain chapters into theatrical dialogues, while also thinking about the staging, costumes, and props. After three weeks of preparation, with intensive work during the Christmas holidays, they presented their performance to students from nearby elementary schools: the CM2 class of Silke Mirande and the CE2 class of Lucas Espil.

Why Le Petit Prince ? Because it is a universal work, translated worldwide, and rich in poetry and life lessons. This project allowed the students to develop theater skills while discovering a major piece of French cultural heritage.

Engaged Comic Strip Contest: Defend the Environment through Illustrations.

As part of the exhibition dedicated to the comic strip A world with no end, Lycée Condorcet Sydney is organising a major engaged comic strip contest open to all primary and secondary students.

Your mission:
Create an original comic strip illustrating one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Engaged message: Call to action, critique, denunciation, or inspiring vision.
Artistic medium: Hand-drawn illustrations, A4 or A3 format (your choice).

Important Dates:

Registration: Closed.
Submission of works: Submit your final comic strips by January 30, 2025.

Selection Criteria:

Relevance to the theme (SDGs and environment).
Originality and creativity of the storyline.
Artistic quality and clarity of the message.

Prizes:
The best creations will be displayed and rewarded at the closing of the exhibition week.

These online subject courses are delivered by Cambridge educators and designed for students in Seconde ou Première to deepen their knowledge about an area whilst gaining an understanding of what it is like to study @ Cambridge.

Boston University’s program is taught by award-winning journalists and offers hands-on experience in news reporting, writing and visual storytelling. Students can choose between on campus and online courses (end June- July).

From Wednesday, January 15 to Thursday, March 13, 2025 — Registration on Parcoursup to create the candidate's file. You can make up to 10 choices, without having to rank them by preference. For certain courses, it will also be possible to make sub-choices.
Thursday, March 13, 2025 — Last day to make choices.
Wednesday, April 2, 2025 — Last day to complete the file and confirm choices.
Monday, June 2, 2025 — Start of the main admission phase. New: Between Friday, June 6 and Tuesday, June 10, 2025: rank waiting list choices.

A quick reminder to ensure everyone is using the booking system (FullyBooked), even on days where you would like us to collect your children from AES at 5:25pm instead of directly from school, as this ensures our records are accurate and we know what days you would like care. If you have completed your Extra Curricular Release form, please note that this is not a booking form and you must still use FullyBooked to pick the day/s you would like.

On the day bookings can be made but they do require direct contact from you to us onsite - text, email or phone call.
