Message for French citizens: Registering with the French Consulate

Have you just arrived in Australia, or have you not yet registered with the consulate? You can register with the consular registry. Valid for 5 years, registration helps facilitate administrative procedures such as applying for a passport/ID card and will assist you with the next steps:
- Applying for scholarships for your children enrolled in a French institution.
– Registration for the defense and citizenship day, required for anyone from the age of 16 (a registration certificate is required when signing up for the baccalaureate exams).

Lastly, if you wish to return to France, this registration will allow you to
easily obtain a certificate of change of residence free of charge.

It's time to place your orders for this year's school photos!

Here are the scheduled dates for the 2024 school photos.
– Maternelle : 10/09
– Secondary : 12/09
– Elementary : 13/09

Thank you for ensuring that the Maternelle students come dressed in their school uniform on that day.
For Elementary and Secondary students, it is highly recommended to wear a light or pastel-colored top and dark bottoms to achieve more harmonious photos.
We remind you that to receive your child's class photo, it is essential to place an order before the 9th of September. Only ordered photos will be printed & distributed.

Sibling photos will be taken on the first-floor of the gymnasium in the new building according to the provided schedule. Please enter through the main entrance on Moverly Road and accompany your children to, during, and from the photo session.
Only secondary school students are allowed to stay unsupervised. However, they will not be permitted to supervise their siblings who are in primary school during the photo session without the presence of an adult. 

LAST REMINDER : SIBILINGS ENROLMENT

If you are considering enrolling a child who is not currently attending Lycée Condorcet de Sydney (LCS) for the August 2025 school year, we would like to remind you of the importance of this process, even if you have priority due to siblings.
Indeed, some grade levels are highly sought after, and the admission process will begin soon. To ensure that your child's application is processed with the priority given to siblings, it is essential to submit it as early as possible via the Eduka platform, under the admissions module, and before October 1st.

Important Reminder: Parking Rules Near the School

We would like to remind you of the importance of respecting parking rules around the school. To maintain good relations with our residents and neighbours, it is strictly prohibited to park and block access to driveways. Any violation of this rule could result in penalties.

School holidays - Aftercare

We are pleased to inform you that registrations for the October and November holidays will open on Eduka on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. Registration will close on September 22 for the October holidays and on October 27 for the November holidays.

Please note that no refunds will be possible after the registration deadline.
We encourage you to carefully review all information before finalising your registration.

Sport AES

If your child is enrolled in a sports AES, please ensure they have appropriate attire for the activity.

Jeans, tight clothing, open sandals, and skirts should be avoided. To ensure nothing is forgotten, you might also leave a pair of shorts or leggings in your child's bag.

Lunch box
 
A quick reminder for children bringing their lunch in a lunch box—please ensure you bring your own cutlery.
 
Indeed, the canteen cannot provide these items due to logistical reasons.

Touch rugby

A group of Condorcet alumni, along with parents and their children, meets weekly to play Touch Rugby. This fun, non-contact sport is perfect for staying active and having a great time!

When : Every Sunday at 3.30pm
Who : All from 7 to 77, all levels are welcome !
How : No obligation or cost. Just come along in your shorts & trainers. Enrolments & communication via Whatsapp.

Parent-Teacher Meetings for maternelle

On August 26, the parents of early childhood students gathered for the first meeting of the school year. This opportunity allowed parents to learn about the curriculum, meet the teaching team, and ask any questions they had.

Primary assembly

Elementary school students participated in their first assembly of the year. After the usual rituals—the Acknowledgment of Country and the national anthems—Principal Patrice wished them a great school year and emphasised the importance of kindness among everyone.
The playground and canteen rules were also reviewed to ensure a harmonious and respectful environment for everyone.

Crazy Days

The "Crazy Days" are back this year at LCS for the delight of our students!
These themed days, held throughout the year, give students the chance to unleash their creativity and have fun by coming to school dressed in unique and original outfits. Whether it’s celebrating bright colours, quirky pyjamas, or the wildest costumes, these days are all about enjoying a creative and playful atmosphere!

Attendance at these meetings is essential. If you haven’t done so already, please confirm your presence by responding to the survey you received last week.

Interschool Badminton Tournament

On Sunday, August 25, the first interschool badminton tournament of the year took place, organised by the NSW Badminton Federation.
At the start of the year, LCS was proudly represented by three teams. The mixed team in Division 1 delivered an outstanding performance, securing an impressive second place.

Introducing our new ESD coordinators

We are delighted to introduce our two new ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) coordinators at LCS.

Sandrine de Coetlogona Grande Section teacher, is passionate about nature and is the driving force behind the Bush School Project in early childhood education, which led to the creation of the Ocean School Project in Year 3 last year. 
This year, she will be working with Marion to promote sustainability and reconciliation.

Marion Lavaud joins the secondary school after several years in Qatar, where she trained students for United Nations debates. She aims to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the school's activities, raising awareness and engaging our students on these crucial issues.

Their goals are to raise awareness, educate, and engage your children on these crucial issues, helping them become agents of change.
