This is just a farewell, thank you dear colleagues!
Our teachers and support staff work closely with you to provide the best possible education for your child(ren). The LCS staff is attentive to each student and continuously strives to promote their well-being, explore new learning methodologies, and propose ideas. It is with great sadness that we bid farewell this year to seven of them.
Firstly, our Head of Education Counselling, Raphaël Teulet, who has decided to explore other professional opportunities while remaining, as a parent, a part of our community.
Next, our primary school teachers: Maryline Beaumier, Richard Marsant, Magalie Metrat, and Madeline Mitchell, who will continue their journey in other countries or explore new pedagogical horizons.
As for the secondary school faculty, Claire François and Marie Dumesnil will also be exploring new professional adventures.
We are immensely grateful for the successes and contributions they have brought to our school community and to the lives of your child(ren).
Goodbye, and all our best wishes for success and happiness in the future!

AES Planning
AES continues up to and including the last day of school on Friday June 28, and will start on the first day of school on August 19 for the first semester 2024-2025.
AES - Search for interveners
We're looking for native French interveners to run homework sessions every Mondays from 3.45 PM to 5.15 PM from the start of the school year in August.

Learn to memorise
Estefania ASENSIO, enseignante au LCS, à crée une fiche pour aider nos élèves dans leur apprentissage et leur mémorisation. Mme Asensio a récemment participé à un stage sur les Neurosciences appliquées à l’enseignement des langues en collaboration avec Maria Galiez, une formatrice reconnue pour son expertise dans ce domaine.
Lors de ce stage, elles ont exploré des techniques avancées de mémorisation applicables à toutes les matières scolaires. Nous souhaitions les partager avec vous avant les grandes vacances.

My French School – Camps
My French School is organising camps during the holidays for children aged 2 and a half to 8 years old.
Join them for fun and educational activities themed around Paris and the Olympic Games.

Lionel Bowen Young Writers’ Award: In Search of Randwick City’s Best Writers
The Lionel Bowen Young Writers’ Award, named in honour of former Mayor of Randwick and former Deputy Prime Minister Lionel Bowen AC, aims to discover the writing talents of young people in Randwick City.
This prestigious competition is a joint program in partnership with Randwick City Library, Randwick City Council's Sustainability Department, UNSW, and Juvenilia Press. Together, these institutions are committed to encouraging and celebrating the creativity and literary talent of local youth.

CE2 Mural
We are delighted to share with you the mural created by our CE2 students: a mural inspired by the school's ocean project. This artwork was made with the valuable assistance of Max Ducos, a French artist and writer.
The mural is now displayed in our school, above the canopy, facing the canteen.

An exceptional weekend for LCS swimmers at the Regional Championships!
This weekend, several members of the victorious team from the last CAPN in Shanghai shone at the Regional Championships in short-course swimming (25m), including Ariane, Emmeline, Naomi, Scarlett, Sophie, Augustin, Benjamin, and Edgard.
By a fortunate coincidence, the Consul General of France was present Sunday morning at SOPAC. Our swimmers and their coach, Pascal Giraud, had the opportunity to discuss their recent victory at the CAPN with him. The Consul General of France in Sydney commended our institution for its values and contributions, particularly in the field of sports.
Many personal records were broken, with some swimmers improving their personal bests by more than 10 seconds, often across multiple events. Augustin, Benjamin, Naomi, and Emmeline particularly excelled in this regard.
Furthermore, our swimmers achieved several notable milestones:
- Scarlett achieved a qualifying time for the Metropolitan Championships in the 50m backstroke.
- Naomi achieved a qualifying time for the Metropolitan Championships in the 50m butterfly.
- Emmeline achieved a qualifying time in the 400m freestyle for the National Short Course Championships and dominated all the 50m events during these championships.
Congratulations to Scarlett, Naomi, and Emmeline for their outstanding performances, propelling them to the highest levels of Australian championships!
You have clearly demonstrated, during the CAPN 2024, that your performances are the result of your determination and mindset.

Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers
The Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers is a developmental award open to Australian secondary school-aged students across the nation. The prize recognises writing excellence in three categories: Fiction, Creative Nonfiction and Poetry. Entries can include writing for readers of any age.
The Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers gives young writers the opportunity to hone their skills under the guidance of some of Australia’s favourite authors. The Prize aims to ignite passion for creative writing and poetry in the minds of Australia’s secondary school students, and to encourage them to pursue writing and publishing opportunities inside and outside of the classroom.

Acquisition of Level 3 (Expertise) EFE3D Label
It's official! LCS has been awarded the Level 3 EFE3D label by AEFE, recognising our efforts in promoting sustainable education.
This achievement is the result of our students' commitment to various initiatives. We warmly congratulate the students and all staff members involved in this project.
Workshops Cleanaway for Kindergarten and Primary Schools
Cleanaway workshops, organised by Randwick Council, recently engaged students from various classes with diverse themes, each aimed at promoting sustainability and responsible waste management. Here's an overview of the themes covered:
For the PS and MS : "Bin Wise"
The young students explored vocabulary related to trucks and bins while discussing the importance of waste sorting. They actively participated by sorting waste into the correct bins, under the attentive supervision of the facilitators.
For the GS : "Nature's Recyclers"
The students discovered the essential role of natural organisms in the recycling process and explored how organic waste can be transformed into valuable resources for the environment.
For the CP and CE1 : "Litter, Litter Everywhere"
The students learned about the impact of waste on their immediate environment and were encouraged to think about reducing the amount of waste they produce daily.
For the CE2 and CM1 : "Love food, Hate waste"
The workshops focused on reducing food waste, teaching students practical strategies to maximise food usage while minimising waste.
For the CM2 : "Sustainable Shopping"
The students explored principles of sustainable consumption, examining how their choices can impact the environment in the long term.
