For the 6th consecutive year, the LCS swimming team has triumphed brilliantly at the Asia-Pacific Swimming Competition held in Shanghai. This latest success is a testament to the talent, perseverance, and dedication of our students, as well as the outstanding work of their coaches.
This outstanding performance perfectly embodies the team spirit and sporting excellence that define our school. We warmly congratulate all the swimmers for their determination and discipline, which have once again led them to the top.

Volunteers needed 14 juillet 🎇 Bastille Day
Take Part in the Bastille Day Celebration: Become a Key Player in an Event Organized by the Consulate and the French Embassy in Australia
The Consulate of France wishes to mark this year’s celebration of Bastille Day by commemorating the Fête de la Fédération. Held on July 14, 1790, it was one of the most powerful moments of national unity our country has ever experienced, and one of the most widely supported events of the French Revolution. More than any other, it symbolizes the legacy that revolutionary values have passed on to the Republic and to modern democracy.
This commemoration will take the form of a short dramatic reenactment, featuring a narrator recounting the events, readings from Jules Michelet’s writings on the Fête de la Fédération, one or two witnesses of the ceremony, and a choir representing the people (who were the main actors of the original celebration). This choir will be mixed, intergenerational, and will reflect the diversity of today’s French population.
We are therefore looking for volunteers to play these various roles — people of all genders, all ages (including both parents and children!), and all backgrounds, whether native French speakers or fluent in French.
This commemoration will take place during the reception traditionally hosted by the Ambassador and the Consul General of France for representatives of the New South Wales authorities and the French community in Sydney. The reception will be held on July 12 or 13, in the late afternoon, in Sydney’s CBD (venue to be confirmed, possibly the State Library on Macquarie Street).
Rehearsals (no more than 3 or 4) will take place between June 15 and July 10. If needed, a meeting could be organized in early April to present the project in more detail.

BOOK WEEK
When books come to life in the schoolyard
Reading Week kicked off this Monday in a festive and colorful atmosphere! Our students opened the festivities with a parade full of music and imagination, all dressed up as their favorite book characters. What a joy to see Harry Potter, Mortelle Adèle, Hermione Granger, Pippi Longstocking, Asterix and Obelix, and many other literary heroes come to life in the schoolyard!
The jury, composed of three LCS staff members, had the difficult task of deciding between the participants, as the costumes were so original and well-crafted. After long deliberations, three students were named winners of best costume: congratulations to Evelyn, Francis, and Sofia for their exceptional creativity!
This morning, Patrice Possenti visited the classes to personally congratulate the lucky winners and present them with their reward: a $50 Dymocks voucher, to continue to fuel their passion for reading!
Congratulations to all the students for their creativity and enthusiasm. This wonderful opening set the tone for a week rich in literary discoveries.

Anzac Court transforms into a living library
To celebrate Reading Week, we set up a Reading Corner in Anzac Court. Primary school children enjoyed reading, dressing up as their favorite character, and creating plays with the puppets.

This morning, our Year 11 students received their Brevet diploma, under the proud eyes of their parents.
Bilingual theater project for 4th grade students
Under the direction of Ms. Amanda Altshuler and Mr. Rémi Jarre, the 8th grade students have been working for several weeks on a bilingual and interdisciplinary theater project. Working as a duo, they explore stage performance, interpretation, and voice acting with seriousness, commitment, and creativity.

🎬 Our students shine at the International Short Film Festival for Sustainable Development!
This year, several 4th grade LCS students participated in the International Short Film Festival on Sustainable Development – Asia-Pacific region, with committed and meaningful projects.
Safia, Louise-Marie, Popi, and Gabrielle saw their film, “Plus que parler,” selected in the “Planet” category. Mary and Katherine also presented a film, “Caque action compte,” which was a finalist in the “Impact” category.

A special prize will be awarded to the film with the most views.

SPORT
The LCS NSW handball vice-champion!
Before securing second place in the NSW Handball Championship, our team had to face four teams in the group stage. After three wins and one draw, we were top of the tournament after the group stage, which unsurprisingly allowed us to reach the semi-finals and then the final. The matches up until the final were intense, especially for some players who were pushed around. The other four teams had many substitutes, which put us at a disadvantage, as we didn't have many. When we got to the final, one of our key players was unfortunately on the bench with an injured ankle. We gave it our all until the end. We can be very proud of ourselves!
In our first match, our team scored four goals in the first five minutes. By the twentieth minute, the score was 11-4 in our favor.
In the second match, we won 12-5… against the team that would eventually beat us in the final.
The third match ended in a 10-10 draw.
After a short break, we won the fourth match 15-7.
We then had a break of about an hour to eat and regain our strength.
In the semi-final, we won 6-5, but we lost a key player, which made things even more difficult for us, with increasing fatigue and a lack of substitutes.
Finally, for our last match – the final – we lost 4-9.
All the teams gave their best in this championship, and the players of our team from Lycée Condorcet were well noticed by the selectors and the players of the national teams.
We found it really funny and enjoyable when students from other schools tried to speak French to us, asking us how to say certain things, and we thought it was really cute of them. It was really hilarious.
We thank our team and its captain, Hugo.P, for their commitment and team spirit throughout the tournament.
We also congratulate Virgile.T, who received the cup for the best goalkeeper of the championship!
A big thank you also to the Lycée Condorcet, which allowed us to participate in this championship. We hope to be able to form a girls' team next year.
Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Page and Ms. Batailler for their support, their organization, and for this incredible day, which will remain forever etched in the memory of the entire team.

A badminton tournament is being organized for students from CM1 to 6ème, on Thursday, June 5, from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m., in the main gymnasium.
Prerequisites: players must be able to exchange at least 10 consecutive shots.

After several months of rehearsals, the students of the Lycée Condorcet are preparing to take the stage with Notre-Dame de Paris.
Quasimodo, Esmeralda, Frollo, Phoebus and Clopin will be played with energy and emotion by a troupe of passionate young actors.
Under the direction of Jean-Patrick Le Gall and Gédéon Chevallier, this new creation promises to be a highlight of the school's life.

What if the magic of the show began long before the curtain rose? It was behind the scenes, paintbrush in hand and imagination on alert, that a passionate team brought the world of Notre-Dame de Paris to life.
Creativity, precision… and a touch of resourcefulness!
Creating a set involves tackling a series of small technical challenges worthy of the best special effects studios: making a pitcher explode at the right moment, making a stick that breaks "on demand," or sculpting a gargoyle that's larger than life. Nothing is left to chance, but everything is homemade—with inventiveness and a lot of elbow grease!
Student artists and craftsmen
The adventure took on an even greater meaning thanks to the involvement of the extracurricular workshop students. Armed with cardboard, fabric, glue, and recycled materials, they created bibles, rosaries, mannequins, and tapestries, all while learning the craftsman’s techniques, teamwork… and the satisfaction of doing it “like the pros.”
A collective project, a living set
Thanks to their enthusiasm, talent, and good spirits, these young creators gave more than just stage props: they breathed life into the set. A great lesson in theatre, of course, but above all, a wonderful shared human and artistic journey.

Between sketches, fittings, and adjustments, Nadia works with patience, precision, and passion. Some costumes are entirely handmade, while others are transformed from existing pieces. A true artistic and technical feat, carefully crafted down to the last button.

When making choices on Parcoursup or through admissions outside of Parcoursup, it is essential to verify the recognition of diplomas issued by higher education institutions. This verification is crucial to ensure successful integration into the job market and to facilitate potential further studies at the master's level or beyond. To assist you in this process:
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Île-de-France offers an overview of the certifications awarded by public and private schools.
The Official Bulletin of the Ministry of Higher Education and ResearchIn its edition of February 12, 2024, lists the business and engineering schools authorized to award diplomas conferring the bachelor's degree.
Registration procedure for students returning to France.
For entry into middle school (up to 3rd grade):
Parents must contact the local middle school directly. On the academic websites, they can consult the list of middle schools available in their area (based on their place of residence).
For entry into the second year of secondary school: applications are entered on AFFELNET by the Lycée Condorcet. Parents must consult the training offers from the academic website of their place of residence or the national consultation website. They have ten assignment wishes ranked according to their order of preference. They complete the wish entry assistance form provided by the PRIO, upon request, the week of the start of the Easter holidays. This form is then completed by the head teacher (for the student assessment part). The computerized entry (AFFELNET) is carried out by the establishment at the beginning of June. This entry provides a summary sheet which constitutes the central element of the file which will be sent to the DSDEN of the department of residence.

- Monday, May 5 to Monday, May 26, 2025: submission of admission requests for the desired programs by families.
- Starting Friday, June 13, 2025: organization of a pre-assignment tour.
- Friday, June 27, 2025: publication of the assignment results according to the schedule set for each academy and the start of high school registrations.
For entry into the final cycle (high school senior year):
It is handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the academy or department of residence. Most often, placement in the 1st year of general high school is reviewed by a departmental commission and requires submitting a file to the DSDEN, which can be downloaded from the academic or departmental websites. However, some academies use the AFFELNET assignment procedure (see above).
This information is specified on AFFELMAP. In rare cases, requests may be sent directly to the head of the high school in the recruitment area.
