As organisers of the event, the team of the Parents & Friends Association, composed of Helen Anderson, Ronan Guilliot, and Joanna Kordina, would like to express its deepest gratitude to each of you who dedicated your time and energy to make last Saturday's School Fete a success.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the incredible parents who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, preparing crepes, cooking sausages, and organising various activities. Please note that the winners of the raffle will be notified by email regarding the process for collecting their prizes.
We also want to extend a big thank you to the CVC and CVL students who generously gave their time at the stands.
A special thank you to our chefs, Jean Manuel and Danielle, who cooked all day at the crepe and barbecue stands.
We also express our gratitude to the LCS staff and maintenance team for their support throughout the event.

2024-2025 Re-enrolment Campaign
The LCS 2024-2025 re-enrolment campaign will take place soon. You will receive an email next week inviting you to notify us whether you wish to continue your child’s schooling at LCS or not via the Eduka parent portal. This is essential and necessary to update your personal data (addresses, passport, visa…) to allow us to work on the 2024-2025 school structure so that your child will be in the class composition.
The media club live on Twitch AEFEINFO
On Monday, March 18th at noon, the students from the LCS Media Club broadcasted live the show they had prepared on the theme 'News on all fronts.' This broadcast was part of the AEFE Webradio Week, in which 50 schools from around the world are participating. LCS had the honour of opening this week of school radio broadcasts.
On the agenda: local as well as international news! And an interview with the writer and translator Alex Gilly by the CM2 students!
The show has been prepared for several weeks during sessions at the CDI supervised by several teachers from different disciplines. These 11th and 12th-grade students are motivated by the search for information and its transmission to other LCS students. This is their 2nd live broadcast this year, and their ease in mastering this media, which is radio, is pleasing to hear. Every week, they delve into current events and broadcast on the LCS TVs, as well as on their Instagram feed.

Environmental awareness by year 7 students
As part of the program, 5th-grade students produced a powerful video on the human impact on marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Available HERE, it underscores the urgency of preserving biodiversity. Guided by their teachers, these young people have explored environmental issues and call for action for a sustainable future.

UCL (University College London) visit
We would like to thank University College London for visiting us at LCS and taking the time to explain to the students the various aspects of university life at UCL.
SPORT
New South Wales High Schools Handball Championship 2024
The annual New South Wales Schools Championships are scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st (girls) and Wednesday, May 22nd (boys) at Sydney Olympic Park. LCS is once again assembling a boys' team and aims to gather enough girls for next year's event. Parents of selected players will soon receive an email. Having clinched the championship twice already, LCS hopes to defend its title once more this year.
With the Brisbane 2032 Games looming on the horizon and Australia securing automatic host spots, we anticipate a promising journey for handball in the years to come. We are enthusiastic about the prospects of handball as a participation sport and the elite pathway opportunities it offers to players. The upcoming School Championships serve as a pathway leading to these exciting possibilities.

Berlin International University of Applied Sciences Online Open Day
Discover Berlin International’s course offers: Architecture, interior or graphic design, business administration and data science. Enrichment activities
Young ICT explorers
This competition was created by SAP and is open to all students Years 3-12 to showcase their passions using technology. Students can work in groups or individually. Registration closes 1 July. Students will need to submit a project report which is then judged by industry experts and university academics. Lots of $$ to be won! Find out more: LINK
French orientation
Orientation Assistance: Online Training. The France Université Numérique platform offers a set of online courses that entitle participants to certificates of completion which can be included when drafting motivated training projects for PARCOURSUP.
These courses are free and can be completed at any time once registration is done. They cover various fields such as higher education mathematics, law, preparation for admission to CPGE or IUT, health studies, environment, physics, chemistry, STAPS, economics, psychology, etc. It is also a way for students to determine if studies in these disciplines suit them, to know the contents taught, and to be able to ask questions to the pedagogical teams composed of teachers in French grandes écoles and universities.

National Ride2School day
On March 22nd, we will celebrate the national Ride2School Day! Don't forget to come by bike, on foot, by public transport, or carpooling to contribute to this national event!
Earth Hour
As part of Earth Hour, the entire school will be made aware about responsible energy consumption. We will turn off electrical appliances from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Afterwards, we will ask maintenance to calculate the energy saved during this hour. Smart Consult will also offer a presentation to explain the use of solar panels as well as recently installed batteries.
