This Thursday, February 13, we had the honor of unveiling the EFE3D Level 3 plaque, a recognition of our commitment to sustainable development.
Thanks to the dedication of our students, teachers, and partners, our eco-committee has led concrete actions, including recycling, renewable energy initiatives, sustainable transport, and much more.A huge thank you to the AEFE inspectors, Mr. Jean-Pierre Avril and Ms. Peggy Pitaval, for honoring us with their presence alongside our principal, Nicolas L’Hotellier, as well as Antony Jonkx and Patrice Possenti. We also warmly thank the members of the eco-committee—Laurence Irwin, Sandrine de Coetlogon, and Marion Lavaud—who played a key role in this initiative. A special appreciation goes to Audrey Le Clech, whose energy and dedication made this wonderful project a success.

Congratulations to Our Committed Students!
– For Kids Giving Back –
We would like to warmly congratulate our students who generously gave their time to volunteer during the recent December/January school holidays. Isla, Sofia, Adele, Alice, Castille, Jeanne, Maya, Justine, Chloé, and Eva were among the 1,170 changemakers who helped prepare more than 6,500 meals, breakfast boxes, snack packs, and care packs for vulnerable communities across Sydney. They also wrote thoughtful and supportive messages for those in need.
Their actions perfectly embody the values of generosity and solidarity that we support within our school. Their commitment is making a real difference, and we are incredibly proud of them!

Let's talk about civility and safety
Pedestrian crossing guards near schools play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of children and vulnerable pedestrians. Their presence helps maintain order and prevent accidents in high-traffic areas. It is important for the entire school community to recognize and appreciate their work, especially during peak times. Their efforts contribute to the overall safety of students as well as the general public. Motorists are therefore urged to show civility and consideration or to plan their routes in advance, particularly during school arrival and dismissal times when traffic can be heavier.

Dear Parents and Professionals,
As part of Orientation Week at LCS, we are organizing a Career Forum on Monday, March 10th, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. This event is a valuable opportunity for our Y10, Y11, and Y12 students to explore different career paths and engage with professionals to better understand the realities of various fields.
To provide students with a diverse range of career insights, we are looking for volunteers willing to share their experiences and career journeys. Your participation can make a real difference in helping them make informed decisions about their future.
We hope to bring together professionals from various industries, including but not limited to:

It will also be available on your Eduka portal.
Derniers jours : French Scholarship 2025-2026
The first 2025-2026 campaign for French scholarship is now open. This concerns both renewals and first-time applications for families already residing in Australia. The deadline for submitting complete applications to the Consulate General is Friday, February 21st, 2025.
All details, brochures, and required documents can be downloaded on the Consulate's website . Please make sure to read all the instructions carefully. Any incomplete or incorrect application may be deferred or rejected. It is not necessary to schedule an appointment with the Consulate.
You can submit your application via France Transfert .

100 Days Celebration in Maternelle
On Friday, February 14th, a surprising transformation took place at the kindergarten: the children in the Senior Kindergarten class transformed into grandparents.
To celebrate their 100th day of school, the students arrived dressed in glasses, canes, scarves, and old-fashioned clothes, humorously and lovingly imitating their elders. Throughout the day, they participated in activities centered around the number 100: counting challenges, crafts, and educational games to mark this significant milestone in their school year.
In a joyful and festive atmosphere, the teaching staff guided these little "elderly" students through this unique experience, blending learning and fun. An unforgettable day filled with laughter and creativity.
Coding Day at LCS
In an increasingly digital world, understanding the basics of programming and coding has become essential. These skills not only help us better understand the technologies around us but also foster logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and creativity. That’s why, on Tuesday, February 11th, and Thursday, February 13th, all classes from Preschool to Year 6 had the opportunity to explore and work with various age-appropriate programming tools.
The younger students were introduced to BeeBots, simple robots that familiarized them with the basic concepts of coding. From Year 1 to Year 3, students explored Matatalabs, educational kits that help them understand coding principles in a fun and interactive way. Finally, the older students had the chance to experiment with Thymio and LEGO SPIKE, more complex tools that provide a deeper immersion into the world of robotics and programming.
These two days were extremely enriching, both for the students and the teachers, in an environment where mastering digital tools and programming concepts has become essential.

Dat at the School Museum for the Year 2/CE1
Yesterday, all the Year 2 students had the chance to visit the School Museum. A true adventure into the past! They were able to discover how education has evolved over the years by exploring fascinating exhibits on old teaching methods, school objects from the past, and even life in schools from earlier times.
The children were impressed by the school uniforms of the past, the old classrooms, and the tools used in schools of bygone days. They were able to imagine what a school day was like long before their time.
A visit full of discoveries and wonder that allowed the students to better understand the history of education while having fun!
Use of Microwaves in Primary School
For safety reasons, we remind you that primary school students do not have access to microwaves or kettles in the cafeteria during lunch. It is therefore recommended that children bring a cold meal or use an insulated lunchbox.

We are thrilled to announce that our Athletic Carnival will take place on Wednesday, 16th April, at Snape Park, and we need YOU to help make it an amazing day!
This all-day event (9 AM – 2 PM) promises to be a fantastic experience for the students, filled with excitement, teamwork, and fun outdoor activities. However, to ensure the success of this event, we rely on the active involvement of our parent community.
We are looking for parent volunteers to:
• Follow a team throughout the day and cheer them on, or
• Lead an activity and bring the event to life.
Your participation is not only essential to the smooth running of the event but also a wonderful opportunity to share in the joy and energy of the day with your child and their peers.

As every year, with the support of their teacher, Madame Mills, the IB students had the opportunity to create and present their works at an art exhibition. This project, which reflects their creativity, passion, and dedication, is the result of many hours of work and reflection.

On Wednesday morning, the students from the school’s badminton sports section (from Year 5 to Year 12) and the IT Badminton group (Talent Identification, from Year 5 to Year 6) gathered for an exceptional early morning training session.
💡 Un moment de partage et de cohésion
Ce rendez-vous a permis de renforcer les liens entre les générations et d’échanger sur le terrain. Les matchs, organisés en équipes de trois joueurs (un élève de cycle 3, un collégien et un lycéen), ont offert de belles rencontres et des échanges dynamiques. Les jeunes talents du groupe IT ont même réussi à impressionner leurs aînés !
🥗 Un focus sur la nutrition du sportif
Cet entraînement a aussi été l’occasion de rappeler l’importance d’un bon petit-déjeuner pour les sportifs. Avant la séance, une collation a été partagée, suivie d’un petit-déjeuner équilibré après l’effort.

Un immense merci aux parents qui ont préparé et cuisiné de délicieuses collations ! Les jeunes athlètes se sont régalés et ont pu reprendre des forces dans la bonne humeur.
