Dear LCS community,
This end of the year concludes on a high note with remarkable successes for our school!
A first record: the French Christmas Market broke all attendance figures, attracting 5,740 visitors and hosting over 110 stalls, some of which brought a wonderful new creative touch to LCS. More than 40 student volunteers actively participated in the event's organization, from production and decoration to signage and the tombola committee. Thanks to 40 generous donations, the tombola raised 3,000 AUD. Let’s not forget our five sponsors, who helped boost our digital presence with 25,800 views on Facebook and 7,800 on Instagram. We will share more details in a follow-up communication next Friday.
An event celebrated with diversity and the support of key figures: we had the honor of welcoming Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker, French Consul Mr. Juillard, French Ambassador Pierre-André Imbert, and Australian Federal MP Mr. Matt Thistlethwaite. Their presence strengthened the community spirit that increasingly defines this market every year: a convivial moment, a shared culture, and a collective energy that highlights not only France but also a unique creative spirit.
A second and equally impressive record: under the guidance of Patrice Possenti and Scott Lavaud, our primary school students overcame fatigue and challenges to raise over 25,000 euros, which they proudly donated to Action Against Hunger. This is truly extraordinary!
These achievements reflect the dedication and energy of our entire community. Together, we are building a new chapter for LCS, a French international school that brings together the best of both worlds. Our mission: to promote excellence à la française, while fully integrating into the international and local Australian context.
More than ever, this vision holds profound meaning today.
With gratitude and pride, we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a very happy end-of-year celebration.
Nicolas L’Hotellier,
Principal.

Les spectacles de Noël du Primaire 🎄
We began the Christmas performance festivities on December 11th, with the CP, GS, and CE2 classes last week. Then, the multi-level classes had the honor of starting this week with the PA and PSB, followed by the CM2 and CE1 classes. Tomorrow, we will observe the CM1, and we will finish on Friday with the MS and PSA.
The CM2D students sang for the return to school!
Starting with a pre-existing rap song, the CM2D students wrote lyrics about the theme of going back to school. Using beautiful rhymes, they then rapped their lyrics to the rhythm of the music and created videos to illustrate their song with a music video. What a delightful project—thanks to their teacher Silke for this initiative. A big congratulations to them!

Visit of the NSW State Library
On December 11, the Première and Terminale BFI students spent the afternoon at the NSW State Library as part of their Knowledge of the World course.
The students attended a lecture on research methods, during which they learned how to access the library's resources and its extensive databases. They were given dedicated time to use the facilities reserved for secondary school students to study and work on their research topics.
Our students also visited the library's exhibitions and had the opportunity to enjoy the impressive Mitchell Library Reading Room, where they spent some time.

Une Semaine Exceptionnelle de Compétition à Bangkok ! 🏸
This week has been incredible! Over 1,300 matches were played during four days of intense badminton competition, with 12 countries from the Asia-Pacific region participating, where this sport is particularly popular. The level of play was truly impressive! Our students began the tournament in singles, and we are proud to announce that 4 of our players ranked in the top 10, among 48 participants in each U15 and U13 category. Adrien D. particularly stood out, finishing 4th in the U13 boys' category, an outstanding result! Beyond the competition, our students had the chance to explore Bangkok by night during a cruise on the Chao Phraya River, while forging strong connections with the 200 other students from different schools. A big congratulations to the entire team for this excellent performance and enriching experience!
