Dear LCS community,
The interschool sports competition between Reddam House and Lycée Condorcet took place today under a beautiful sunny sky at the Margaret Whitlam Sports Centre in Bondi Junction. While our boys' and girls' basketball teams competed fiercely against Reddam’s formidable squads, our soccer players shone with their team spirit. This day marks the beginning of a promising series of exchanges. Congratulations to all of you—we are proud of your efforts!
LCS is also celebrating Democracy Week: our middle and high school students are getting ready to vote in the coming weeks to elect their representatives for the CVC and CLV. This passion for civic engagement has already emerged among the younger students. In fact, our primary students conducted full-fledged electoral campaigns last Monday. This event holds particular significance in the life of the class and the school, as it contributes to the citizenship education of our students. It gives them the opportunity to experience civic and democratic life firsthand.

Reminder : French Tennis Open in Sydney - 5 & 6th of October 2024
The Sydney Tennis Open is back for its 11th edition on October 5th and 6th, 2024, at the Eastside Tennis Centre in Kingsford, with the support of BNP Paribas.
This tournament, open to all tennis enthusiasts, is a fundraising event for Redkite, a charity that supports families affected by childhood cancer in Australia and New Caledonia.
The competition features four categories:
Men, Women, Juniors (11-13 and 14-17 years), and Doubles (all ages).
Each participant is guaranteed three round-robin matches, and registration for doubles is free for those signed up for singles.

This week, the primary school students participated in the elections to choose their class representatives.
We are delighted to announce that the elections took place with great enthusiasm and commitment from the students. Each class had the opportunity to vote for their representatives, and we are excited to see how these new delegates will contribute to improving school life and giving a voice to their peers.

Victory in Local Tennis Competition
We are thrilled to announce that our team won the local tennis competition last week!
Thanks to this victory, we have been selected for the finals of the New South Wales (NSW) tennis championship, which includes all the top schools in the state. The grand final will take place in Parramatta on November 18..

The Multidisciplinary Higher Education Program (CPES)
The Bachelor of Science from École Polytechnique and the BS-MS dual degree Columbia-École Polytechnique. The CPES (Multidisciplinary Higher Education Program) is a specific three-year track organised in partnership between a high school with preparatory classes for grandes écoles (CPGE) and at least one higher education institution, such as a university or an engineering school. This program offers education across multiple disciplines (e.g., science and technology, law and economics, humanities and social sciences, literature, arts, languages, health, etc.) and allows students to gradually specialise. At the end of the three years, students receive a national bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent diploma), which enables them to apply for selective master’s programs offered by universities or grandes écoles. In summary, the CPES functions somewhat like a university preparatory class, without the pressure, providing a pathway to demanding master’s programs. Testimonial.
The Bachelor of Science from École Polytechnique and the BS-MS Dual Degree with Columbia
The Bachelor of Science is a three-year program designed for students passionate about mathematics and science. This highly selective and multidisciplinary program is taught entirely in English and leads to a double major, allowing students to gain solid knowledge and skills in multiple disciplines. In the third year, students have the opportunity to study abroad for the fall semester at one of the partner universities, such as Berkeley, EPFL, King’s College London, or The University of Melbourne. The main goal of the Bachelor program is to open doors to numerous Master’s programs, either at École Polytechnique or other prestigious institutions around the world.
Le BS-MS Dual degree
It offers a multidisciplinary and international approach through a 5-year program: École Polytechnique and Columbia Engineering offer a 5-year program with a Bachelor’s degree (3 years) at École Polytechnique and a Master’s degree (2 years) at Columbia University, through one of their nine engineering master’s programs. Lost & Found : We are currently holding a significant amount of lost property collected over the past month. Please check our Lost Property Table in the hall if you are missing anything.
