AAEH Final and Ball at the French Embassy in Australia
The “Ambassadors in the making” adventure has come to a wonderful close for our students and their teachers. Thaïs Barrier, who represented LCS at the Year 10 level, achieved second place in the “Orator” category with her excellent speech on the theme “AI and Me.” She received the silver medal in the presence of Mr L’Hotellier and Mr Cario, who attended the final held at the National State Library in Canberra.
The other members of the team — Liv Gay-Para (Year 4), Chloé Roumanus (Year 7), Mary Mackay (Year 9), Karlotta Dorfel-Kinzel and Nathan Lecomte (Year 10) — although they did not receive medals, proudly represented Sydney and our school throughout the competition.
For the students and the teachers who accompanied them throughout the project — Mesdames Hélène Flurin, Cathy Halter, and Marie Jacquier — the real victory lies above all in the wonderful human adventure they shared. Of course, there was individual work, reading the carefully selected magazines provided by our librarian Isabelle Joannon, the enlightening talks by Stéphane H. and Emmanuel F. (AI specialists) and Gabriel Gay-Para, our philosophy teacher, as well as the training sessions over quick meals; there were doubts, questions, emulation, and agonizing blank pages when facing tough questions such as “Does AI promote the manipulation of public opinion?”; but above all, there were emotions, solidarity, the birth of a great team spirit, and magnificent encounters with students from the Asia-Pacific zone.
Even though the question of whether Artificial Intelligence is a revolution in the service of humanity — the theme of this 14th edition of the competition — was ultimately not settled by the 14 delegations, it has undoubtedly been in the service of human intelligence, living together, and sharing. A huge congratulations to our teachers for their dedication and to our students for their hard work and collective spirit. This adventure will remain a very beautiful experience that will mark the long history of the AEFE’s “Ambassadrices et Ambassadeurs en Herbe” programme.
The stay concluded in a festive atmosphere with a dance evening at the Embassy, organised by Mr Pierre-André Imbert’s team, whom we warmly thank. A magnificent moment of sharing to close this stay.

Special thanks to Scott for coordinating and preparing the event alongside Nicky and Anne, to Lucas and Lysa for their contribution, and to the entire teaching staff for your participation, flexibility, and enthusiasm. SECONDARY
This morning, the 6th grade B and 6th grade D students in the SIB program presented their "Travel and Tourism" exhibit in room D119, showcasing countries such as Fiji, China, South Korea, Japan, Brazil, Norway, New Zealand, Canada, Sweden, and Madagascar. The goal of this exercise was to practice their English by expanding their vocabulary and researching these destinations, just like real travel agents, in order to present their countries convincingly. LCS SPORT
Podiums, records and team spirit: the highlights of the CDSSA in Swimming
What a day for our 24 LCS swimmers in the beautiful Cranbrook school pool! Incredible performances with 31 individual podium finishes and 6 relay/team podium finishes shone brightly for the LCS team at these championships against Australian schools. Edgar took first place in the U16 category, Michael first in U17, and Louis first in the 18/19 category. Emmeline finished second in the U15 category, and Dina and Karim finished third in their respective categories. Louis shattered the CDSSA record in the 100m freestyle with a time of 57.88; a feat that will be remembered for years to come. The senior boys' 17 & Over relay teams won the 4x50m freestyle and 4x50m medley relays in style, with Michael, Fedy, Roger, Karim, and Louis demonstrating exemplary teamwork.
Well done to everyone for their energy, fair play and determination.
Next up: the AICE Championships, where our 22 selected swimmers from LCS (Edgar, Naomi, Brigitte, Clovis, Benjamin, Louis, Kathleen, Emmeline, Karim, Oscar, Dina, Feddy, Filip, Michael, Valentina, Sophie, Amelia, Clément, Roger, Matteo, Augustin, and Colette) will proudly represent CDSSA. LCS has the second largest delegation (Total Individual Entries: 46 – Total Relays: 8).

Rowing feats for Luca, Remy and Madeleine
At the NSW Schoolboys/Schoolgirls Head of the River 2026 at the Sydney International Regatta Centre on March 14-15, our students distinguished themselves with their outstanding performances. Luca triumphed in the Year 10 individual event, while alongside Remy, he secured a commendable 4th place in the senior double sculls against particularly strong competition. Madeleine, for her part, achieved a promising 5th place in her very first major regatta in Year 8.
As Remy finishes his schooling, Luca confirms his exceptional potential and could soon be aiming for a national title in the under-17 category. With a promising future already secured, the future looks very bright.

The LCS re-enrolment campaign for the 2026-2027 school year will take place from March 16 to March 25.
You received an email on March 16th inviting you to notify us on Eduka of your wish to continue schooling or leave.
Since no registration is automatically renewed, please note that this administrative step is mandatory to ensure your child's registration is confirmed for next year.
