A historic first for our teams at the CAPF! ⚽️

For their very first participation in the Asia-Pacific Football Cup (CAPF), our teams delivered impressive performances, leaving a lasting impression with their commitment, talent, and team spirit. A great source of pride for our school!

Les filles U15/U18 ont signé un parcours exceptionnel en atteignant la finale du tournoi. Opposées à une redoutable équipe de Singapore, elles se sont battues avec détermination jusqu’au bout, s’inclinant en finale mais repartant avec une magnifique médaille d’argent 🥈. Un résultat remarquable pour une première participation, qui place notre équipe féminine parmi les meilleures de la zone Asie-Pacifique !

The U18 boys, for their part, also put in a very good performance. They reached the semi-finals, where they lost to the talented team from Tokyo. They finished the competition in a very respectable 4th place, demonstrating a great team spirit and real potential for the future.

Beyond the results, it was a truly human and sporting adventure for our students: powerful moments of team bonding, intense matches, and unforgettable memories shared with young people from across the region. Their exemplary attitude both on and off the field was praised by the organizers, further strengthening our school’s positive reputation internationally.

School Fête 2025 – A Joyful Shared Moment

Inspired by the traditional end-of-school-year fairs – a European summertime tradition – the LCS School Fête has now become a cherished April tradition within our Australian context. This 2025 edition took place under a radiant sky — how lucky we were!

Since the resumption of post-pandemic activities, more and more of you have joined us each year to share in this festive and family-friendly morning alongside the LCS team and many dedicated parent volunteers. This wonderful momentum reflects the warm and committed spirit of our school community.

Lycée Condorcet de Sydney would like to warmly thank all members of the Parents & Friends (P&F) Association, as well as the many volunteers and participating families, for their energy and generosity. Thanks to this collective commitment, the fête held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, was a great success.

Dear Parents,

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who took part in this exceptional day. Your presence and enthusiasm made this event truly unforgettable. Together, we celebrated education, childhood, and inclusion — values at the core of our shared mission.

Over 600 activity bracelets and passports were distributed, allowing children to fully enjoy the festivities and giving parents a chance to share special moments with them.

The funds raised will allow the association to cover event production costs and support tangible projects for students, including:

2022 : Installation of a slide in the kindergarten playground
2023 : Purchase of sports and leisure equipment
2024 : New playground games and equipment
2025 : Projects under discussion – your ideas are welcome via our [online suggestion form]

Let us also remind you that the P&F Association is a non-profit organisation with the mission to:

Facilitate the integration of new families within LCS
Promote multiculturalism and bilingualism
Organise social events for students, parents, and teachers
Support LCS educational projects
Collaborate closely with the school’s leadership

We are also proud to contribute to other major highlights of the school calendar, such as La Guinguette or La Galette des Rois.

Solidarity Harvest: The children get involved with OzHarvest.

All CE1 and CE2 students met on Thursday, April 10th for a presentation of the association OzHarvest, an organization founded in 2004 by Ronni Kahn, which fights against food waste while helping people in need.

For several weeks, students have been bringing non-perishable goods to class as part of this wonderful community initiative.
A big thank you to all the families for their generosity and commitment! Thanks to your donations, the children were able to participate in a civic and community-based initiative, while developing their social awareness.

A great opportunity to remind us that, even on a small scale, young children can make a real difference.

Grand final of the "Lève ta Voix" reading competitions from 1st to 5th grade.

This past fortnight, LCS elementary school students enthusiastically participated in the school finals of the reading aloud competition Raise your voice!, organized as part of the AAFEBS (Australian Association of French English Bilingual Schools) network.

This competition, which highlights reading, diction, and oral expression, invites each participant to choose an excerpt from a Francophone literary work – contemporary or classic – and read it aloud in front of an audience. Depending on their category, students have 1 to 3 minutes to bring the words to life and captivate the audience.

In the CM1/CM2 category, it was Mélodie, a CM1 student, who won the school final thanks to a sensitive, expressive, and masterful reading. She was able to convey all the richness of the chosen text, with a remarkable stage presence and precise diction.

A huge congratulations to all the participants for the quality of their performances! It was truly a pleasure to share these moments of listening, emotion, and literature. The passion for books and the beauty of the French language were in the spotlight!

Final of the 1st-2nd grade (CE1-CE2) students.

On Friday, April 11, the 1st-2nd grade (CE1-CE2) classes gathered to experience the grand final of the "Lève ta voix" reading competition. For several weeks, over a hundred students prepared a reading aloud. Each class selected its representative, who competed this Friday. The jury enjoyed listening to each of the 8 readings. They then chose the top 3 performances, not without difficulty. Congratulations to Isaac (1st – CE1B), Apolline (2nd – CE1A), and Dalya (3rd – CE2D), and to all the candidates. A big thank you to the teachers and the jury.

🌍 SurfAid, c’est bien plus que des vagues : c’est un engagement concret pour améliorer la santé et le bien-être de familles vivant dans des zones isolées, fréquentées par les surfeurs du monde entier. L’association agit main dans la main avec les communautés locales pour créer un changement durable.

A look back at the performance by the Latin students.

A look back at the performance by the Latin students.

The Latin students in Years 5, 4, and 3 brought the spirit of ancient Rome to life through the play "Ars Longa – Vita Brevis" – an original creation that they wrote and directed with passion! This one-hour show, the result of a collective effort that began in November, was presented twice on Monday, April 14: in the afternoon for students in Years 5, 6, 5, and 4, and then in the evening for an audience of captivated parents.

Accompanied in their writing work by Jean-Patrick Le Gall, author and director, the students took on the challenge of creating a true journey through time, blending humor, emotion, and historical references. Carefully crafted costumes and music, spectacular sets, and precisely timed scene changes punctuated this Roman epic, praised for its originality and boundless energy.

A big congratulations also to their Latin teacher, Ingrid Builles, for her tremendous support and commitment throughout the project. Her support and enthusiasm were essential to the success of this show.

Congratulations to our young actors and writers, who have brought to life the adage: “Art is long, life is short.”

Comédie Musicale : Notre-Dame de Paris 🎭

From Paris to Sydney, Dennis Mamimtzsch pays homage to the stonework and architecture of Viollet-le-Duc by printing and installing these superb trompe l'oeils of Notre Dame. It is in this magnificent setting that the LCS students will soon invite you to the performance of the eponymous play.

Registration procedure for students returning to France.

For entry into middle school (up to 3rd grade):

Parents must contact the local middle school directly. On the academic websites, they can consult the list of middle schools available in their area (based on their place of residence).

For entry into the second year of secondary school: applications are entered on AFFELNET by the Lycée Condorcet. Parents must consult the training offers from the academic website of their place of residence or the national consultation website. They have ten assignment wishes ranked according to their order of preference. They complete the wish entry assistance form provided by the PRIO, upon request, the week of the start of the Easter holidays. This form is then completed by the head teacher (for the student assessment part). The computerized entry (AFFELNET) is carried out by the establishment at the beginning of June. This entry provides a summary sheet which constitutes the central element of the file which will be sent to the DSDEN of the department of residence.

Monday, May 5 to Monday, May 26, 2025: submission of admission requests for the desired programs by families.
Starting Friday, June 13, 2025: organization of a pre-assignment tour.
Friday, June 27, 2025: publication of the assignment results according to the schedule set for each academy and the start of high school registrations.

For entry into the final cycle (high school senior year):

It is handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the academy or department of residence. Most often, placement in the 1st year of general high school is reviewed by a departmental commission and requires submitting a file to the DSDEN, which can be downloaded from the academic or departmental websites. However, some academies use the AFFELNET assignment procedure (see above).

This information is specified on AFFELMAP. In rare cases, requests may be sent directly to the head of the high school in the recruitment area.

Supporting your child in their career guidance: two tools to discover

This week, we present two tools to help your child find their path:

Parents will be able to find advice and information to support their child in building their career path as well as the replay on demand of a webinar specially dedicated to them: How to best support your child in their career choices?

The Wilbi application helps young people discover the daily life of the professions in a realistic way and in story format, just like on social networks, in order to help them with their career guidance.
