MEET WITH MARIA LAMRANI TO DISCUSS A CARING LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Dear Parents,
Dear parents, We are excited to welcome Maria Lamrani, a passionate educator, kindergarten specialist and parent coach who will be working with the entire maternelle teaching team for one week in September.

Maria specialises in early childhood education and in offering a more caring learning experience for children, and she invites LCS parents to meet her in the school canteen on Wednesday, 21 September at 8.15 am for a coffee and chat about the topic: Is it possible to educate our children without punishment nor rewards?

Kind regards,
Ms Bronnert

YOU CAN NOW BORROW BOOKS AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL LIBRARY AGAIN!

Children in Maternelle and year 1 children can borrow up to 2 books per week. Students in year 2 or over can borrow up to 4 books and magazines per fortnight.

Please check to make sure your child takes the books home and out of their backpacks once they’ve been to the library, and that they put them back in their backpacks to be returned in the morning on library days.

There are still a few books that haven’t been returned from last year. We will soon have to invoice parents for these, but this is far from the ideal solution so please take the time to go through your children’s rooms at home and make sure they are not hidden there anywhere.

We are lucky to have our two multilingual libraries so please do your best to respect the rules.
Merci vivement de votre aide, les bibliothécaires.

SIB x MATERNELLE

Our year 5 SIB students (Extended British Programme) have been working on the theme 'Identity' and have been speaking in class about morals. After having discussed stories and nursery rhymes from childhood that taught them important life lessons, the students worked in groups to write their own nursery rhymes, with a moral in each story. They then acted out the nursery rhymes to Petite and Moyenne Section classes who were very impressed by their older schoolmates. Well done, everyone!
