Volunteers needed 14 juillet 🎇 Bastille Day

Take Part in the Bastille Day Celebration: Become a Key Player in an Event Organized by the Consulate and the French Embassy in Australia

The Consulate of France wishes to mark this year’s celebration of Bastille Day by commemorating the Fête de la Fédération. Held on July 14, 1790, it was one of the most powerful moments of national unity our country has ever experienced, and one of the most widely supported events of the French Revolution. More than any other, it symbolizes the legacy that revolutionary values have passed on to the Republic and to modern democracy.

This commemoration will take the form of a short dramatic reenactment, featuring a narrator recounting the events, readings from Jules Michelet’s writings on the Fête de la Fédération, one or two witnesses of the ceremony, and a choir representing the people (who were the main actors of the original celebration). This choir will be mixed, intergenerational, and will reflect the diversity of today’s French population.

We are therefore looking for volunteers to play these various roles — people of all genders, all ages (including both parents and children!), and all backgrounds, whether native French speakers or fluent in French.

This commemoration will take place during the reception traditionally hosted by the Ambassador and the Consul General of France for representatives of the New South Wales authorities and the French community in Sydney. The reception will be held on July 12 or 13, in the late afternoon, in Sydney’s CBD (venue to be confirmed, possibly the State Library on Macquarie Street).

Rehearsals (no more than 3 or 4) will take place between June 15 and July 10. If needed, a meeting could be organized in early April to present the project in more detail.

Send your application to: communication@condorcet.com.au

HGGSP Year 11 Students' Excursion: Luxury and International Power

As part of their HGGSP curriculum, the students aimed to understand how luxury brands contribute to the international influence — or soft power — of their country of origin, in this case, France and the United States. This project allowed them to explore a world that is both fascinating and exclusive, where exceptional artisanal craftsmanship meets the communication strategies of major fashion houses and the work of diplomatic teams. They were able to grasp the cultural and economic influence these brands exert far beyond their borders.

An LCS student selected for the European Sailing Championships!

Titouan.CLG, a Year 4 B student at Lycée Condorcet in Sydney, has just been selected to represent Australia at the Optimist European Championships, which will be held in Česme, Turkey, at the end of the month.

Sailing is a passion that Titouan has cultivated for many years with rigor, determination, and talent. He regularly competes in high-level competitions, and his selection for this prestigious event crowns an exemplary sporting career.

The Optimist European Championships bring together 260 young sailors from around the world, who will compete for the title of European Champion. A unique human and sporting adventure, where Titouan will proudly fly the flag for his country... and for our school community!

🚀 Soutenir Titouan, c’est soutenir un rêve !
Pour rendre possible cette participation et couvrir les frais liés au voyage, à l’équipement et à la logistique, une page GoFundMe a été mise en place.

Any help, even symbolic, will help Titouan navigate towards success!

We send him all our encouragement and wish him good luck for this magnificent adventure. 🌍⛵

Last dive before Shanghai!

Vendredi dernier, nos nageurs et nageuses du Lycée Condorcet de Sydney ont affronté l’école Reddam House lors d’une compétition amicale mais intense dans les bassins.

These regular sporting events between our two establishments are always an opportunity to strengthen team spirit, challenge each other, and prepare for the major events to come.

And indeed: this competition marked the last full-scale training session before leaving for Shanghai, where our students are participating this week in the Asia Pacific Swimming Cup (APSC).

A high-level event that the LCS knows well: our team has already won the CAPN à cinq reprises.

Buoyed by this experience and their cohesion, our swimmers showed on Friday that they are ready to proudly represent the colors of our school on the international stage.

Congratulations to all participants for their commitment and performance! We wish them good luck in Shanghai — and why not a sixth victory for the LCS! 🇫🇷🇦🇺🏆

🌊 LCS surfers shine at the 2025 SurfAid Cup!

Last Friday, a team of LCS Maroubra students proudly represented our school at the SurfAid Cup, a charity event combining sport, engagement, and solidarity, held on the beach in a festive and generous atmosphere.

Our young surfers demonstrated great team spirit, remarkable commitment, and infectious energy throughout the day. Despite sometimes technical surfing conditions, they pushed themselves, supported one another, and proudly carried their school's colors high.

In terms of results, special mention goes to Hugo, who won the title of Highest Fundraising Grom thanks to his remarkable fundraising efforts, and to Enael, who came in second place. A huge congratulations to both of them, as well as to the entire team for their exemplary commitment!

Many thanks also to Teha, who, while not on the board, played a vital role by actively supporting his teammates on competition day and participating in fundraising.

Bravo also to all the other members of the team: Roméo, Maéva, Maël, Salomé, Augustin and Martial, for their commitment, their good humor and their sportsmanship throughout the adventure.

Finally, thank you to everyone—parents, students, friends, and staff—who contributed to the fundraising. Thanks to your generosity and the mobilization of our students, $5,655 was raised, a valuable contribution to SurfAid's overall goal. In total, nearly $74,000 was raised during this 2025 edition to support isolated communities.

Parcoursup

Prepare for the admission phase using the Parcoursup training site.

Admission proposals, pending choices, prioritization of choices... To help final-year students better understand how the admissions process works and approach this stage more calmly, a training site is now available. They can thus familiarize themselves with the interface and the different situations they will encounter starting Monday, June 2. Find the link here.

Recognition of diplomas issued by business, engineering, and art schools:

When making choices on Parcoursup or through admissions outside of Parcoursup, it is essential to verify the recognition of diplomas issued by higher education institutions. This verification is crucial to ensure successful integration into the job market and to facilitate potential further studies at the master's level or beyond. To assist you in this process:

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Île-de-France offers an overview of the certifications awarded by public and private schools.

The Official Bulletin of the Ministry of Higher Education and ResearchIn its edition of February 12, 2024, lists the business and engineering schools authorized to award diplomas conferring the bachelor's degree.

Registration procedure for students returning to France.

For entry into middle school (up to 3rd grade):

Parents must contact the local middle school directly. On the academic websites, they can consult the list of middle schools available in their area (based on their place of residence).

For entry into the second year of secondary school: applications are entered on AFFELNET by the Lycée Condorcet. Parents must consult the training offers from the academic website of their place of residence or the national consultation website. They have ten assignment wishes ranked according to their order of preference. They complete the wish entry assistance form provided by the PRIO, upon request, the week of the start of the Easter holidays. This form is then completed by the head teacher (for the student assessment part). The computerized entry (AFFELNET) is carried out by the establishment at the beginning of June. This entry provides a summary sheet which constitutes the central element of the file which will be sent to the DSDEN of the department of residence.

To find out the precise schedule for each academy, consult AFFELMAP

  • Monday, May 5 to Monday, May 26, 2025: submission of admission requests for the desired programs by families.
  • Starting Friday, June 13, 2025: organization of a pre-assignment tour.
  • Friday, June 27, 2025: publication of the assignment results according to the schedule set for each academy and the start of high school registrations.

For entry into the final cycle (high school senior year):

It is handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the academy or department of residence. Most often, placement in the 1st year of general high school is reviewed by a departmental commission and requires submitting a file to the DSDEN, which can be downloaded from the academic or departmental websites. However, some academies use the AFFELNET assignment procedure (see above).

This information is specified on AFFELMAP. In rare cases, requests may be sent directly to the head of the high school in the recruitment area.
