A message from LCS
Dear LCS Community,
The upcoming months promise to be filled with exciting Francophone events! We warmly invite you to join us for the performance of "Les Monsieur, Monsieur," followed by a Wine and Cheese reception at the school hall. On March 19th, we will celebrate Francophonie with student participation, games, dictation, and prize-giving. A particularly significant highlight of this term will be the launch of the 35th edition of the French Film Festival. During this festival, both primary and secondary classes will have the pleasure of experiencing modernised classics such as "The Three Musketeers" and animated films. The FFF programs have been distributed at reception and are also available on our website.
Lastly, in less than a month, we will have the pleasure of celebrating the school's annual festival. The Parents & Friends association has put together an enriching program, and we hope to see many of you there. Remember to book kids activities on the P&F website.

French Consulate Scolarships 2024/25
Families who wish to submit an application for the French Consulate scholarship are invited to send their complete application to social.sydney-fslt@diplomatie.
Complete applications with all required documents must be received by the French Consulate General no later than 23 February 2024.

REMINDER : BCD
As you know, elementary students go to the school library with their class, accompanied by their French teacher, except for the last week before the holidays.
Therefor, Next week, from February 19 to 23,students will be accompanied by their English teachers during another time slot. Parents, please remember to return the borrowed books according to the time slot indicated on Pronote.
Furthermore, you know that every Friday before the holidays, the BCD opens its doors for you to spend a quiet moment with your children to nurture their love of reading.

Meet and greet with university students
The high school students had the enriching opportunity to meet university students from various fields to seek advice on their future career paths.
Representatives from engineering, management, business, computer science, medicine, and even future biology teachers shared their experiences and answered questions from high school students. This initiative provided a concrete perspective on various academic and professional paths.

The 7th-grade students recently expressed their creativity by designing terrariums. Through this experience, they gained a better understanding of the ecosystem. These unique mini-gardens reflect the ingenuity and creativity of our students.

The Orientation department will hold an information session on “all you need to know about applying to Australian Universities” on Tuesday 12 March @ 6pm for all interested students and parents.
Students in Terminale and IB2 that are applying in 2024/2025 must attend.

We are very lucky to have UCL, currently ranked 9th in the world (QS rankings) to visit us on Monday 18 March from 7.30- 8.30am in the Hall. All parents and students invited, please rsvp to simone.salier@condorcet.com.au.

George Washington University is a highly ranked American university located in central Washington DC.
The Admissions Director will be visiting LCS to share information about the admissions process, courses on offer, campus life and much more!

University of Tasmania Marine Biology Experience on Maria Island
Applications for A Practical Introduction to Temperate Marine Biology, XAS101 are open.
This is a transformative opportunity to study with our world-leading Marine Biologists in one of the most interesting biodiverse ecosystems in the world.
The experience is for one week from 22 April.
There are 24 places available to current Australian year 11 and 12 students with 5 fully funded packages for interstate students.

Behind the Scenes of Les Misérables... Part 1
At the heart of our school, "The Big Day" is in the making: the curtain will rise on April 6th for the musical "Les Misérables," written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, based on the work of Victor Hugo, performed by the LCS troupe.
The Les Misérables project is mobilising tremendous energy within the school: 27 student actor-singers from 6th grade to 12th grade on stage, 2 stage managers and their backstage team, 12 students dedicated to creating props and set designs, a large-scale production workshop, the creation of over 40 costumes, a choir director, a director, 2 project administrative managers, and coordinators, and 4 stage managers!
The general enthusiasm and the unity of talents create a joyful and tireless creative fireworks display. Without making much noise, these powerhouse teams are busy surpassing themselves to dare the insurrection and barricades of the people of Paris in 1830. Today, we share a glimpse into the maintenance team's workshop—Gordon, Marc, and John are designing, manufacturing, and equipping a French door for the needs of Act 2 of the show.
We can't reveal everything here, but we wanted to express our gratitude to the handymen whose ideas and talents continue to open up ever more beautiful prospects for the project. Thank you, gentlemen, you are amazing! Stay tuned for the next episode...
