Dear LCS community,
All eyes are on our students this week, who shone in the first day of the Race Against Hunger at Snape Park, with 650 students participating and over 5,000 laps completed. It was impeccably organized by our sports coordinator, Scott, with invaluable support from the Parents & Friends association and the many parents who came to cheer on our young athletes. Join us at LCS on Thursday for the second part of this wonderful initiative—the results will be shared soon.
An annual event at LCS: on Friday, November 29, Lycée Condorcet invites you to join the new edition of the program Let’s Create Start-Up. Since 2021, our Year 10 students have been designing innovative businesses for a sustainable future. We are looking for volunteers to coach the teams alongside French Tech Australia, Visionari, and the secondary teaching team. Share your expertise (vision, organisation, marketing, finance...) and help these young entrepreneurs bring their projects to life.
Just one hour of your time can make all the difference! Join us for the Grand Finale in the afternoon to discover the projects and experience an enriching and inspiring day. Together, let’s shape the entrepreneurs of tomorrow!

Parent Portal of LCS
What about the Parent Portal on the LCS website?
Many of you are regularly using the new Parent Portal on our website, recently launched. We would like to inform you of an upcoming change: starting November 25, a simple password protection system will be introduced to enhance privacy.
When? A few days before this change, we will send you the access codes directly by email. Please keep an eye on your messages to ensure a smooth transition.
What happens next? Once on the Parent Portal page, you will simply need to enter the login and password that LCS will email to you a few days before the update. So please check your inbox for these details.

2nd Semester School fees 2024-2025
Your invoice for the 2nd semester 2024-2025 school fees will be sent by email mid November 2024. It will also be available on your Eduka portal. Please make sure that your account is up to date with the 1st semester fees 2024-25.

A message from the Parents & Friends Association

Give your child a creative spring with our small group art workshops, led by Pascale, AES teacher. Each day, a different theme will encourage them to explore and express their imagination!

As you know, every Friday before the holidays, the BCD opens its doors from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM for a quiet moment with your children, encouraging their love of reading.
Take the opportunity to borrow books in both French and English before the November holidays.

Details of the 14th of November (Updated program) :
Parents of students are invited to come and cheer from 9:00 a.m. (entrance via Anzac Parade).
For the Petite Section (PS)
- The PS A, PS B classes, and PS students from PA A are expected in the Anzac courtyard at 9:00 a.m.
Races timetable:
- 1st race : 9.15am - PS A + PS students from PA A
- 2nd race : 9.30 am - PS B and PS students in PA A
For the Moyenne Section (MS)
- The MS A, MS B, MS C classes, and MS students from PA A are expected in the Anzac courtyard at 9:50 a.m.
Races timetable:
- 1st race: 10.05am - MS A + MS students from PA A
- 2nd race: 10.15am - MS B + MS students from PA A
- 3rd race: 10.25am - MS C + MS students from PA A
End of the race : 10.30 am
Secondary
Dissection in Year 7
This term, Year 7 students explored the different ways animals and plants obtain their nutrients and oxygen. This study led us to a workshop on gills, featuring a live fish dissection! Between surprised gasps and fascination, the students tackled the challenge with enthusiasm and skill. To avoid any waste, the remaining fish were carefully frozen for future use.
14-18: The Words of War, When Speech is Freed
The students of Year 9 A, B, and C present an immersive exhibition on World War I, created with their teachers Mrs. Builles, Mr. Duncan, Mrs. Halter, and Mrs. Lavaud, with the valuable help of Mrs. Joannon.
Through letters, posters, and literary excerpts, the students explore the voices of those who lived through the Great War and pay tribute to their experiences. They also created propaganda posters and wrote press articles to denounce censorship, delving into the horrors of Verdun in 1917. To share this history with younger generations, an adapted audio guide has been designed, offering a sensitive approach to the past.
This exhibition is a contribution to the duty of remembrance.

Cochlear Autumn School of Engineering for Y 11 & IB1 students
This 4 day program from 14-17 April 2025 involves visiting 4 universities and 4 engineer projects/organisations with the opportunity to meet over 100 engineers and current engineering students. This opportunity is very popular so if you are interested please email Ms Salier asap!

The Academy for Enterprising Girls is a fun and exciting entrepreneurship program, available FREE to all young women in Australia aged 10 – 18, funded under the Australian Government’s Women’s Leadership and Development Program. The Academy is designed to cultivate
young women’s skills in design thinking, entrepreneurial and business skills.

Next orientation webinars :
A webinar day will take place on Wednesday, November 20, starting at 8:00 PM, for high school students, Year 9 students, their parents, and educational staff. This event will allow them to ask questions about orientation MOOCs and learn how to use them as tools to support decisions regarding higher education pathways, study fields, and career choices.
