Dear Parents,

First of all, we would like to warmly thank everyone who participated in the RESIS Group conference last night, hosted by Marie-Charlotte Cerf. You can find the full conference by following this link..

As every year, we also invite all our students, on September 11, to wear a yellow item of clothing or accessory, as a nod to the R U OK? program.

The LCS is delighted to announce the second edition of a prestigious exchange program and inter-school sports competition with Reddam House School, aimed at our Year 9 students. This experience not only promotes cultural exchange, but also provides a wonderful opportunity to build connections through education and sportsmanship.

Finally, we look forward to seeing many of you on Friday, September 26:

  • Join us in the morning for the breakfast organized by our P&F association, during which the AGM will be held. Come vote and actively contribute to the life of our wonderful association (for any questions beforehand, please contact Faïza).

Student Representative Elections – September 15 and 16, 2025

Class representative elections will be held on September 15 and 16, 2025, for all students from CP to CM2. As part of this process, Patrice and Lysa visited the classes to explain to the students the role of the representative, the importance of this responsibility, and how an election is conducted. This is a true exercise in school democracy, which allows students to better understand how an election works and to have a concrete civic experience, adapted to their age.

Musical meeting with Jean-Baptiste Robin – Monday, September 8, 2025

The students in CM1 A and B as well as CM2 C and D had the chance to meet Jean-Baptiste Robin, internationally renowned French organist and composer, currently organist of the Royal Chapel of the Château de Versailles and professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.
This meeting took place at Kincoppal-Rose Bay, which has an 1890 Puget organ, sent in 1904 from a convent in Bordeaux and installed in the school's heritage-listed chapel. This exceptional instrument, restored by French organ builders, is one of only two working French organs in Australia. It plays a central role in the musical and cultural life of the school. Jean-Baptiste Robin even offered the students a much-appreciated interpretation of the Star Wars theme, brilliantly demonstrating the richness of sound and the modernity possible with this ancient instrument.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to discover a French heritage object in the heart of Sydney and to fully engage in a lively and enriching musical education.

SECONDARY

Un camp inoubliable pour nos élèves du secondaire !

Another sensational LCS camp took place last week with 6eme, 1ere, and IB1 students all having a few days away together at The Tops Conference Centre.

The two groups collectively fostered community, connection, and collaboration within their own cohorts and together as LCS secondary school students. The buddy/mentor program was such a success that there are already requests for setting up more opportunities for them to connect with each other again soon.

To sum up our days…

Study skills,
Swings,
Strengthening Bonds,
Stretching Our Limits,
Supporting Peers,
Scrumptious Meals,
Silly Times,
Silent disco,
Survivor,
And Special Moments.

🎭 Auditions for the musical: Le Roi Soleil 🎭

Our students experienced a powerful moment with their first auditions in front of a real jury. For many, it was their first stage experience, where they were able to confront the demands of the audience while benefiting from a supportive environment.

The jury, made up of 9 diverse profiles – teachers, artists and stage enthusiasts – provided complementary perspectives and valuable advice.

Beyond the selection, these auditions will remain a formative stage: an opportunity to dare, to share and to progress in their artistic journey but also the construction of their personality.

Beyond the result, this experience was formative: a meeting between effort, emotion and the stage.
