OZ HARVEST, A COLLECTION FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Dear Parents,

As part of an awareness campaign against food waste, the OzHarvest organization will engage with CE1 and CE2 students on April 10 to help them understand the issues surrounding waste and food solidarity.

On this occasion, we are organizing a collection of non-perishable food items (pasta, rice, cereal, biscuits, applesauce, etc.), which will be distributed to those in need by OzHarvest.

Collection dates: from April 2 to April 9.
Drop-off location: directly in the students' classrooms.

We thank you in advance for your participation in this wonderful initiative, which will help our students better understand the importance of fighting food waste while contributing to a charitable cause.

Beach Oztag Tournament: An unforgettable sports morning.

Under a beautiful sun and with their feet in the sand, the four CE2 classes took part in an unforgettable beach oztag tournament! In this idyllic setting, the students discovered (or rediscovered) a typically Australian sport, combining speed, agility, and team spirit, all in a friendly and sporty atmosphere.

Ten mixed teams, made up of students from different classes, competed in a cheerful atmosphere, encouraged by their classmates and supported by several parents who came to lend a hand as coaches or referees. A huge thank you to them for their invaluable help!

Kudos to all the students for their participation, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm.

A wonderful morning of sports and sharing, one that we will not soon forget!

A day full of acrobatics for the Multi-Age group.

Last Monday, the students from the Multi-Age classes had the chance to experience an extraordinary day at the circus school. Throughout the day, our young artists were able to develop skills both in the air and on the ground.

The students had the opportunity to try out various workshops: aerial hoops, suspended hammocks, trampolines, and even balancing with plates! Each activity allowed them to push their limits and discover new sensations. Incredible demonstrations were also organized to offer the students an amazing show.

A beautiful day full of emotions and discoveries, which allowed our young artists to shine in a fun and stimulating environment. It was an unforgettable moment for the Multi-Age classes!

Team SurfAid 2025 – Together for a good cause.

Introducing Team SurfAid 2025: 8 students, 2 teams, and a whole community gathered to support them during the competition which will take place on Friday, May 9 at Bondi Beach.

The goal of SurfAid is to improve the health and well-being of families living in remote communities connected to and frequented by surfers, focusing on empowering local communities to enrich their own lives.

Beyond the support provided to SurfAid, this adventure is also a wonderful opportunity for our students to develop valuable skills through this fundraising effort: teamwork, commitment, sense of responsibility, and more.

Your energy is just as valuable as your donation. Thank you for being by our side! In 2024, our 8 surfers managed to raise 8000 AUD; will we break the record together this year? How? Come join us for their Movie Night + Raffle on Wednesday, May 7 at the school.

Sport

CAPF, un début de tournoi en fanfare à Bangkok 🇦🇺⚽️

On Monday, the team got settled in with a great day of sightseeing and exploring the city, before participating in the opening ceremony where each delegation was introduced.

The matches started on Tuesday morning under scorching heat (35°C and 80% humidity!), but our students didn't back down. They kicked off their championship in style:

The boys won their first match 3-0 against Bangkok B.
The girls, on the other hand, crushed Beijing 7-0!

And that was just the beginning.
In the afternoon, two new victories confirmed the group's excellent momentum:

The boys held strong against Ho Chi Minh and won 1-0.
The girls shone once again with a decisive 9-0 win against Seoul.

Tuesday, it was time for the second day of the tournament:

Three final group stage matches for the girls.
Last group stage match and quarterfinal for the boys.

Motivation and determination are there. Our students came to win, but also to fully enjoy this exceptional experience.

A big thank you to the organizers and the Lycée Français International de Bangkok for their warm welcome.

The rest promises to be thrilling...

Futsal Tournament – Next Wednesday.

The gymnasium will host a futsal tournament (6-a-side) on Wednesday, April 16, from 6:15 PM to 9:00 PM. The event is open to the entire school community: students, staff members, alumni, and parents are invited to form their teams and come share this fun and sporty moment together.

The registration fee is set at 70 dollars per team. A cake sale and a barbecue will also be organized on-site.

The show will be performed in front of the 5th and 4th grade French and History classes next May. Public performance scheduled for May 16th and 17th.

Comédie Musicale : Notre-Dame de Paris 🎭

From Paris to Sydney, Dennis Mamimtzsch pays homage to the stonework and architecture of Viollet-le-Duc by printing and installing these superb trompe l'oeils of Notre Dame. It is in this magnificent setting that the LCS students will soon invite you to the performance of the eponymous play.

Presentation of the UTS Business Scholarship Program

Peter Gitman, Class of 2024, will return to school to present the prestigious UTS Business Co-op Scholarship program, of which he is currently in his first year. This unique program offers a substantial scholarship of $56,000 and a full year of on-the-job training with a wide range of renowned employers over three years.

In a challenging economic climate, this presentation is an opportunity not to be missed: Peter will share his advice on the application process and answer questions from attendees.

Podcast for parents: Careers of the future.

UCAS, the UK's university admissions platform, has created this podcast for parents to help them support their children as they navigate the changing world of work and careers.

Registration procedure for students returning to France.

For entry into middle school (up to 3rd grade):

Parents must contact the local middle school directly. On the academic websites, they can consult the list of middle schools available in their area (based on their place of residence).

For entry into the second year of secondary school: applications are entered on AFFELNET by the Lycée Condorcet. Parents must consult the training offers from the academic website of their place of residence or the national consultation website. They have ten assignment wishes ranked according to their order of preference. They complete the wish entry assistance form provided by the PRIO, upon request, the week of the start of the Easter holidays. This form is then completed by the head teacher (for the student assessment part). The computerized entry (AFFELNET) is carried out by the establishment at the beginning of June. This entry provides a summary sheet which constitutes the central element of the file which will be sent to the DSDEN of the department of residence.

Since Friday, April 4, 2025: opening of the consultation of training offers for the 2025 school year in the online service.
Monday, May 5 to Monday, May 26, 2025: submission of admission requests for the desired programs by families.
Starting Friday, June 13, 2025: organization of a pre-assignment tour.
Friday, June 27, 2025: publication of the assignment results according to the schedule set for each academy and the start of high school registrations.

For entry into the final cycle (high school senior year):

It is handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the academy or department of residence. Most often, placement in the 1st year of general high school is reviewed by a departmental commission and requires submitting a file to the DSDEN, which can be downloaded from the academic or departmental websites. However, some academies use the AFFELNET assignment procedure (see above).

This information is specified on AFFELMAP. In rare cases, requests may be sent directly to the head of the high school in the recruitment area.

Supporting your child in their career guidance: two tools to discover

This week, we present two tools to help your child find their path:

Come and discover or rediscover the section "I am a parent" in the Future(s) tab on the Onisep.fr website. Parents will be able to find advice and information to support their child in building their career path as well as the replay on demand of a webinar specially dedicated to them: How to best support your child in their career choices?

The Wilbi application helps young people discover the daily life of the professions in a realistic way and in story format, just like on social networks, in order to help them with their career guidance.
