Dear LCS community,
The Consul General of France visited our school on Tuesday, May 7th to present to our students from 3rd grade to high school a series of actions organised by the Consulate in view of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The highlight of these festivities will be a parade, scheduled for July 13th, starting from the Sydney Opera House and heading towards the Harbour Bridge. This parade will of course be inspired by those traditionally opening and closing the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Open to everyone, regardless of nationality, it will offer everyone the opportunity to participate and demonstrate their attachment to the Olympic ideal.
In addition to the parade, the Consulate wished to highlight various sports disciplines that are often underrepresented. Through discovery sessions organised during the six weeks leading up to the event, everyone will have the opportunity to try out sports such as archery, fencing, diving, badminton, three-on-three basketball, and breakdancing. These sessions will not only allow for the discovery of new sports, but also provide an opportunity to discuss their significance and technical specificities.
This popular celebration promises to be an inclusive celebration of diversity, friendship among peoples, and the values and hopes carried by the Olympic movement. We are delighted to have the opportunity to bring our community together by participating and look forward to seeing you there.

Notice of departure
In the event of a departure from the school, a notice period of 6 weeks must be observed before the last day of classes, which is Monday, May 20th, to avoid a deduction of $250. The departure form is to be filled out on Eduka after cancelling the re-enrollment of your child with the admissions service : inscriptions@condorcet.com.au
CAPN 2024 - Chapter 1:
The team captains for CAPN 2024 are: Julia, Etienne, and Scarlett. We wish them great success.
The LCS swim team is training diligently before heading to Shanghai. We would like to thank the Pierre Fabre Group for sponsoring the competition. It brings us great joy and pride to represent LCS and to receive support from a brand that knows how to export "Made in France" around the world. Thank you to Avène for taking care of our skin after hours spent in the water, and for the trust you place in our school and its talented students.
Lost & Found : Until the 10th of May
Before each vacation, LCS sets up tables gathering all lost items so that you can retrieve them. Despite the efforts of the school life team to find the owners, we still have many unclaimed items. LCS will maintain a table until May 10th: please come and find your lost treasures! Unclaimed items will be donated to benefit a New Caledonian association.

World bee day with Guerlain and the Billion Bees association
With World Bee Day this month, LCS pays homage to the insect that gives our world its colour, scent, and vivid beauty.
We’re hosting a wonderful event thanks to our sustainability coordinator, Laurence Irwin, to raise awareness about bees and the importance of preserving them. With the initiative of Guerlain, a brand that has long revered bees, going the extra mile to help raise awareness and repopulate bee numbers, we are offering a half day immersion to our students. With the intervention of a specialist advocate beekeeper, Rachel Potter, our students will navigate between the beehives and learn:
- Introduction by Guerlain: The Bee, The Work of A Bee, How To Protect The Bee, and What Can We All Do To Help In The Future.
- Talk on the Bees : what they do, different types, how to protect them.
– Colouring and game exercise ( for CE2 and CM1 students).
- Bee Diploma given to each student and seeds given out for children to plant.

About Billion Bees :
Established in early 2020, the Billion Bees Foundation is dedicated to the restoration of Australian Bees in our communities and giving nature back the upper hand. They have many projects in the bee scape. Their current focus is working with bushfire-affected communities in Queensland and New South Wales to restock their lands with Australian stingless bees.
This is to facilitate natural bushland restoration, pollination, and to help biodiversity in these devastated places.

Maternelle : Multi-level project meeting
Dear Maternelle parents, LCS is launching the pilot project of multi-level classes starting in 2024 and we are inviting you to a presentation meeting on May 28th at 6:00 PM.
Max Ducos in class with the GS
Today, the GS C had the opportunity to meet Max Ducos, a French author and artist in residence at LCS. Max will visit each class individually to share his work with the students.
In a more intimate setting, he read his books to the children, allowing them to discover his stories and illustrations. The students had the opportunity to interact with him, asking questions about the characters in his books.
After the reading session, Max guided the students in an artistic activity by painting a beautiful canvas.
Don't miss the book signing sessions scheduled for this Friday, May 10th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on May 15th from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

Vaccination Y7 and Y10
For Year 7:
NSW Health will visit our school this year for a vaccination day scheduled for Monday, May 27th, 2024.
If your child is in Year 7 and you wish for them to receive this vaccination, you may now give your consent online.
In Year 7, students are offered free vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (dTpa) and human papillomavirus (HPV).
Vaccination will only be administered at the school if consent has been received.
How to give consent ?
To complete online consent for your child’s school vaccinations, visit: https://nswhealth.service-now.
If you or your child do not have a Medicare card, you can still give your consent by filling out a paper consent form.
We will provide all our students with a paper copy of the consent form on Monday, May 13th, 2024. This consent form must be returned to the infirmary before the Friday 24th of May 2024.

For Year 10 :
The NSW Health team will come on Monday, May 27th to administer catch-up vaccinations against Meningococcal ACWY for students who were absent or unable to receive it during the last session.
Please fill out a consent form online if you didn't do it for the first session.
Latin day at LCS
Latin Day was recently celebrated at LCS, offering students an engaging immersion. Organised by Mrs. BENADIBA and the participating classes, the day featured a series of interactive games designed to make Latin learning accessible and enjoyable.
Sport
Registration - tests for the 4 school Elite squads Talent Identification Program
At the end of May and beginning of June, the selection tests for the 4 school sports sections (Y 6 to Y 12) and the Talent Identification Program (CM1 to year 6) of LCS will take place.
The LCS sports disciplines include:
Badminton
Swimming
Surf
Tennis
Open to young athletes who already have skills in these sports and a good level of practice.
ATTENTION: It is only possible to register for one activity for the selection tests!

LCS on track for a third victory at the Handball Championship?
We are delighted to announce the players who will proudly represent LCS at the upcoming Handball Championship at Sydney Olympic Park. This year, our team is more diverse than ever, with players from five different school levels, from Year 8 to Year 12.
Under the leadership of Franck.L, appointed captain of the 2024 team, our players are ready to take on the challenge and defend our championship title. We are also delighted to welcome Laura and Margaux, two journalists from AS Handball, who will be responsible for capturing the highlights of the competition and writing an article after the championship.

Plan your own enterprise competition
This competition is open to all full-time secondary school students enrolled in a registered secondary school in Australia at the time of submission of their entry. Business and Financial Planning enables students to see the inter-connectedness in business operations allowing them to have an in-depth understanding of business functions. UNSW Bragg Student Prize for Science Writing

Parcoursup: Calendar & answers
From May 30th (May 31st in Sydney) onwards, students will gradually and continuously receive admission offers.
It is imperative to respond to each admission offer within the deadlines specified in their file, typically within 48 hours of receipt. The additional phase will begin on June 11th. Please note that there will be no responses during the baccalaureate exam period, from June 16th to 23rd.
Pending wishes will be classified between July 1st and July 3rd.
The main phase will end on July 11th.
