Information regarding upcoming public holidays in New South Wales
In New South Wales, public holidays are approaching. The next one is Good Friday, on Friday 3 April 2026, marking the start of the Easter long weekend.
Here are the main confirmed public holidays for the rest of 2026:
Easter: from Friday 3 April (Good Friday) to Monday 6 April (Easter Monday), including Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday.
Anzac Day: Saturday 25 April 2026. Good news: the government has announced an additional public holiday on Monday 27 April 2026.
King’s Birthday : lundi 8 June 2026.
Labour Day: Monday 5 October 2026.
End of year: Christmas Day on Friday 25 December 2026 and Boxing Day on Saturday 26 December 2026. An additional public holiday is scheduled for Monday 28 December 2026, providing a long weekend to close out the year.
Lost objects
Lost items are available at the entrance of the school. Please kindly collect any belongings that are yours before the holidays begin. Otherwise, they will be donated to charity.
PRIMARY
Raise Your Voice: The CP Grand Final
This morning, the final of “Raise Your Voice” took place for CP students. As part of the AEFE’s educational initiatives for *Mai des Langues*, LCS is organising this public reading competition, inviting participants to read aloud, for one to three minutes depending on their level, an extract from a French-language work of their choice. Tomorrow, it will be the turn of CM1 and CM2 students to take part in their final. We now invite you to listen to young Auguste, who will read an extract from his chosen work.
Chocolate Egg Hunt at LCS
To celebrate the Easter season, the CPB students had the joy of taking part in a big egg hunt last Thursday, in the presence of a very special guest: Mr. Giant Bunny 🐰 Thank you to the class parents and the teachers for organizing this magical and unforgettable moment 🌷

Crazy day – Imaginary ocean
This Friday 10 April will be the traditional Crazy Day before the holidays, this time themed around the oceanic imagination — a gathering of fantastical sea creatures.
Athletic Carnival à Snape park
This Friday 10 April will also feature the morning session of the Athletic Carnival at Snape Park, bringing together all primary students for a varied program (races, jumps, team games and relays); with temperatures forecast to reach 30°C, please remember to bring sunscreen and stay well hydrated.
BCD Library open before the holidays
Reminder: the BCD Library is open to parents on the Friday before the holidays (Friday 10 April); please contact anne.massain@condorcet.com.au for more information.
SECONDARY
Press and Media Week 2026 at LCS
The students of Year 9 A and B and Year 10 B met with Richard Flurin, a political journalist covering the left wing for the French daily newspaper Le Figaro. They discussed the profession of journalism in the age of fake news, AI, and social media. Many thanks to Richard Flurin for this wonderful and enriching meeting.
They also explored photojournalism through the project Prix Bayeux War Correspondents Prize – The View of 15-Year-Olds, [https://www.regarddesjeunes.org/](https://www.regarddesjeunes.org/), organized in October 2025, in which three other Year 9 classes also took part. Created in 1994, this prize pays tribute to journalists who work in dangerous environments to ensure access to free and independent information.

Save the date : Remise des diplômes du bac & Gala des terminales 2026
All the information (schedule, tickets, reservations) will be shared during a Zoom session on April 30, followed by the opening of reservations and RSVP, both for the graduation ceremony and for the gala. A calendar invitation will be sent to you by email.
Under the spotlight
For those who did not have the chance to attend the performance by our philosophy students during the LCS 60th anniversary ceremony, we are sharing the script with you along with a few photos to revisit this short play, based on an original idea by Mr Gabriel Gay-Para, our philosophy teacher at LCS, who captivated the audience with his creative way of highlighting French philosophical heritage. Thank you to the students Rose, Marilyn, and Addisen.

We have two important university visits scheduled for the first week of June—please mark your calendars:
University of St Andrews (Scotland): Currently ranked No. 2 in the United Kingdom by The Guardian, it will give an in-person presentation at 12:00 pm (during lunch) on Monday, June 1. All students and parents are invited. Scottish degree programs last 4 years and allow students to explore different subjects before confirming their specialization.
EHL (École Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland): Ranked No. 1 in the world for hospitality management, with a second campus in Singapore, EHL will visit LCS on Wednesday, June 3 during the advisory period. All students and parents are welcome.
