A message from LCS
Dear LCS Community,
We will have the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Pierre-André Imbert, Ambassador of France to Australia, tomorrow, Thursday, February 8th, at Lycée Condorcet de Sydney. Following his visit to our school campus, there will be a meeting with the elected representatives of the School Council, as well as with Madame Mangion, President of the management committee.
The finals of the 2024 Ambassadors in the making revealed the winners to thunderous applause. We congratulate each of the students who participated in this exercise with courage and talent. Ambassadors in the Making 2024
The Eloquence Competition, founded by the AEFE, Ambassadors in the Making, sparked enthusiasm among students from Y4 to Y12 around the evocative theme, echoing current events: "1924-2024: The Olympic and Paralympic Games, a Unifying, Inclusive, and Sustainable Event?"
Since last September, under the leadership of Mrs. Savary, Mrs. Launay, and Mrs. Lacoste, participants have prepared with determination. They have enriched their knowledge and supported their views through two exciting conferences led by Mr. Ros and Mr. Monin.
The competition was challenging: only 13 students - 4 teams selected for the semi-finals.
The final, held yesterday, Tuesday, February 6th, saw the top candidates compete in four distinct categories, with winners selected for each category.

The next step will be the AEFE Asia-Pacific zone final in Phnom Penh at the end of March.
The prestigious jury, composed of officials and friends of the Francophonie as well as dedicated primary and secondary teachers, brought their expertise to evaluate the impressive performances of the candidates, and we hope they know how touched and happy we were by their presence!

Recycling certificate TEFAL
We are thrilled to announce the fantastic success of the cookware recycling initiative at LCS during the month of December.
In just a short period, our community saved 56 kg of kitchenware. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this initiative such a success.

This Friday, the cafeteria celebrates the Chinese New Year with a menu featuring Chinese specialties.
REMINDER : After care
Registrations for the February and April vacations close this Sunday, 11.02.24, at 11:00 PM on Eduka. LCS will not be able to issue a refund after this deadline.
Reading week : 12 - 16th February
Next week will mark the eagerly anticipated event of Reading Week, featuring a program rich in activities and dedicated reading time.
Books on wheels will make a stop at LCS on Wednesday, February 14, and Thursday, February 15.
Scholastics will be at LCS only on the Thursday 15th od February.
On Thursday, February 15, starting at 2:30 PM, parents are warmly invited to borrow books from the CDI and BCD while exploring the various stands within the school premises. We look forward to sharing these enriching literary moments with you!

Art exhibition at the COMA gallery
The IB students will be showing their works at the COMA gallery on the 15th of February from 5pm to 8pm.

You are all invited to the exhibition to encourage the young artists, we're counting on your support.
Meet & greet with students
Is my English proficiency sufficient for studies in Australia? Is France truly the best choice for political science studies? If I have a passion for cinema, what subject should I choose until the Bac? Is there a surefire path to success in medical or engineering studies? And if I'm interested in law, how many hours a day should I dedicate to my studies?
To address all these questions, we invite you to join us on Monday, February 12th, for a meeting with students from the best universities in NSW and beyond. They will be there to listen, share their experiences, address your inquiries, doubts, desires, apprehensions, and help you envision your future, whether it be in Australia or elsewhere. French exchange students here will also share their bicultural experiences.

Applying to Australian universities
The Orientation department will hold an information session on “all you need to know about applying to Australian Universities” on Tuesday 12 March @ 6pm for all interested students and parents. Students in Terminale and IB2 that are applying in 2024/2025 must attend.

This is a fabulous opportunity to demonstrate your interest in a subject area which is important for many university applications but also for helping you confirm your post school direction. Pedagogical garden
Last week, the students of CE2A took on the responsibility of caring for the educational garden, and they were rewarded with a beautiful harvest of pineapples, melons, and leeks!
