Dear Parents,
As the week of awareness and prevention of harassment in schools approaches, the LCS would like to remind everyone of the charter that guides the actions carried out within our school community.
True to its dual commitment, with the NSW campaign R U OK? and in line with the French interministerial plan to combat bullying introduced in 2023, the LCS is pleased to present the program for the cycle that will be held on our campus from September 8 to 10. As a highlight of this week, we will have the honor of welcoming Marie-Charlotte Clerf, trainer and co-facilitator of the Résis network, on Monday, September 8. Her arrival will mark a new step in the training of our staff and in raising awareness among our entire school community.
We invite you to participate in two highlights next week:
The safety and well-being of our students are at the heart of our educational priorities. Through these initiatives, we will reaffirm our policy and principles of action to prevent and address any situation of harassment and intimidation at Lycée Condorcet.
1. The Wellbeing Unit
The LCS Wellbeing Unit brings together the school psychologist and specialized members of the educational community. Supervised by the Compliance Office, its role is to support students, parents, and teachers in the prevention and management of issues related to bullying, school climate, and mental health.
2. The Allambie Team
The Aboriginal word Allambie means "peaceful place" and comes from the Dharug people, traditional owners of the land that is now Allambie Heights, Sydney. At LCS, this name symbolizes our desire to promote respect, well-being and listening. Founded a few years ago, the Allambie team, led by secondary school teacher Frédérique Page, aims to set up workshops and dialogue sessions, in particular to raise awareness about bullying prevention and promote a school "without bullying, without disorder, without rowdiness". A question? We invite you to write to us at the following address: allambie@condorcet.com.au for secondary schools and allambie.primaire@condorcet.
3. Our Guiding Principles
Our approach is based on:
It is based on three principles:
4. The Intervention Framework
5. The Shared Concern Method (SCM)
Among the various ministerial directives and partnerships, the LCS has adopted, since 2019, the Method of Shared Concern (MPP) and collaborates with the RÉSIS association, founded by:
MPP is a non-punitive method that:
This approach, derived from educational science, has proven to be more sustainable than sanctions alone.
6. A Collective Approach
Combating bullying requires everyone's commitment: students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Together, we build a safe and supportive school environment.
As defined in the LCS Code of Conduct, this means working in partnership with the school in a spirit of collaboration, in order to achieve the best for everyone. This includes prioritizing direct communication with the school and not hesitating to contact the administration if you have a question, doubt, or concern.
