REMINDER / MESSAGE FROM LCS BOARD
LCS board recently ran a successful process and appointed a board member with deep financial expertise.
Following this successful appointment; as part of our ongoing commitment to strong governance and the long-term development of Lycée Condorcet, a not-for-profit organisation, the Board of Directors is seeking to further broaden its pool of expertise by welcoming parents to apply to join the board.This appointment will ideally chair the audit & risk management board sub-committee as well. We are looking for candidates with experience in risk management and compliance.
This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the life of our school and engage closely with its community. Interested parents are invited to submit a short résumé along with a brief paragraph outlining how their professional experience could support the Board’s work.
Applications should be submitted by 10 June 2026. Selected applicants will be invited to interview in the coming weeks.

- Registration Opens in Eduka: From Wed. June 3rd at 8:00pm
- Limit of 2 activities for the first 15 minutes – No limit from Wednesday 3 June 2026 at 8:15 PM
- Registration closes in Eduka: Sunday 2 August 2026 at 11:00 PM
- Activities begin on the first day of school, Wednesday 19 August 2026, and will end on the last day of classes, Friday 18 December 2026.
- No cancellations or modifications will be accepted after this date and the full semester will be due..
- Pick-up during activities is not permitted.

Canteen Enrolment 1st semester 2026-2027
The canteen module on your Eduka portal will be open from Wednesday, 3 June at 8:00pm for registrations for Semester 1 2026-27. Registration closes on 02/08/2026.
Attention: Registrations from this semester will not be carried over to next year. Please remember to register your children as soon as the module opens for the upcoming school year.
School fees invoice 1st semester 2026-2027
The tuition fee invoice for the first semester of the 2026–2027 academic year will be sent during the week of 15 June 2026. It will also be available through your EDUKA portal. We kindly ask you to ensure that your Eduka account is up to date regarding all fees for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Inauguration de la fresque de Margaux Grappe
This morning, the Lycée Condorcet de Sydney community gathered in front of the theatre to officially inaugurate the magnificent mural created by our primary school students.
We were honoured to celebrate this milestone in the presence of Mr. Barrier, Consul General of France in Sydney, elected parent representatives, members of the Parents & Friends association, teachers, and our Year 5 (CM2) student representatives.
Our Year 5 representatives brilliantly opened the ceremony, proudly presenting the artwork created in collaboration with artist Margaux Grappe. Deeply moved, Margaux then took the floor to express her heartfelt thanks for the warm welcome she received and the exceptional quality of the collaborative work with the children.
A huge thank you to Anne Massain, who beautifully coordinated this entire project hand-in-hand with the teaching staff. Congratulations to all our budding young artists for this wonderful masterpiece that now brightens our school every day!
Closure of the BCD Library
Book loans will end on 30 May. Library sessions will stop from 15 June. All borrowed books must be returned no later than 15 June.

Maths week - Competitions for Y6 and Y7
As part of Maths Week, the Mathematics Department organised two competitions for Year 6 and Year 7 students. The results were exceptionally close, both in the individual and class rankings. Congratulations to all students who took part with such enthusiasm! The individual competition was based on a past paper from the Kangourou Mathematics Competition. The top three students in each year level will receive a $30 cinema voucher.

The class competition took a different form for each year level. Year 6 students competed in Calculatrice à la mer, with the winning class being the one that achieved the highest average score. Year 7 students, meanwhile, took on the challenge of a Maths Without Borders competition. In the end, Class 6D and Class 7D emerged as the winners and earned an ice cream party during a maths lesson. Ice cream, basketball, and board games were all on the programme to celebrate their success!
A huge thank you to our school catering provider, Chartwells, and to Head Chef Sean, who generously donated the ice creams for the two winning classes. We would also like to thank everyone who contributed to making this event such a success.

Year 6 Excursion to Calmsley Hill City Farm
Last month, four Year 6 classes took part in an excursion to Calmsley Hill City Farm as part of their Science programme.
Organised by Mrs. Irène Blanc, Biology and Earth Science Teacher, the visit supported the study of the topic “Food and Sustainable Development.” It provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore how a working farm operates, learn about different agricultural practices, and better understand the connections between food production, animal farming, and environmental sustainability.
Throughout the day, students observed a wide variety of animals, attended demonstrations, and participated in educational activities that enhanced their understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with food production and sustainable development.

AES Artists Shine
Students from the AES Painting and Drawing workshops have created a wonderful collection of artworks with the guidance of Pascale, inspired by themes chosen in collaboration with the students themselves. We invite you to come and discover and admire their creations, which will be on display in the Reception corridor throughout the month of June. This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their creativity, imagination, and artistic talent.

Clément P. Carries the LCS Colours with Pride at the AICES Championships
Clément Piellard, a Year 5 student at LCS, proudly represented our school at the Sydney Independent Schools Cross Country Championships.
After an excellent 6th-place finish at the CDSSA Championships, he qualified to compete against some of the best young runners from across Greater Sydney.
The competition was particularly strong at the AICES Championships, but Clément rose to the challenge and finished among the top 30 runners. His outstanding performance also enabled our school to take part in its very first cross-country competition at this level.
Congratulations to Clément on this remarkable achievement and for representing LCS with such distinction!

Badminton tournament open to young players from CM1 to Year 6, on Monday, June 15th
Dear Parents,
LCS is organizing a badminton tournament open to young players from CM1 to Year 6, on Monday, June 15th, from 3:35 PM to 6:00 PM, at the main gymnasium.
- Requirement: your child must be able to rally at least 10 consecutive shots.
- Sportswear is mandatory.
- The school can provide a racket if needed.
- Meeting point: in front of the main gymnasium at 3:45 PM.
Please complete this form only if you are certain your child will participate. (30 students maximum) and also inform the primary school teacher that the child must go directly to the main gymnasium next to the theatre.

MUSICAL TALENTS
Enriching Musical Opportunities for Young Musicians in Sydney
With growing interest from students and families in ensemble music, several local initiatives are offering young musicians the opportunity to join orchestras and chamber music groups. These programmes allow students to develop their ensemble skills, explore more demanding repertoire, collaborate with other passionate musicians, and fully experience the joy of performing together.
Among the available options, the Sydney Chamber Music Institute (SCMI) is launching a new initiative for advanced young musicians looking to deepen their artistic practice. Rehearsals will take place at the Master Music Studios in Glebe for eight to nine weeks each term and will culminate in a concert project alongside professional musicians. Five-day intensive workshops are also offered during school holidays. Applications for 2026 are open until July 30. For more information, families can contact Director Adele Ohki at adele.ohki@gmail.com.
The Sutherland Shire Youth Orchestra (SSYO) also organises intensive two-day workshops during the school holidays. Interested families can follow their Facebook page to stay informed about upcoming events and registrations.
Another opportunity for young instrumentalists is the Shire Concert Band, which rehearses every Monday evening from 6pm to 8pm at Caringbah North Public School. Further information and contact details are available on their website and Facebook page.
Finally, the prestigious Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) offer no fewer than thirteen different ensembles suited to a wide range of musical levels. Although auditions for 2026 have officially closed, families may still contact the organisation to submit a late application.
These various organisations provide wonderful opportunities for students wishing to continue their musical journey in a stimulating, collaborative, and high-level artistic environment.

Discovering the Water Cycle with Sydney Water – Year 4 Students
During the workshop, Aqua Allies Led by Sydney Water, students explored the urban water cycle, water treatment processes, and the challenges involved in preserving this essential resource. Through interactive scientific experiments and sustainability-focused activities, they gained a deeper understanding of the importance of responsible water management and environmental conservation.
Bake Sale in Support of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation
As part of their APC sessions, the students of Year 4A carried out a research project on coral bleaching. Keen to deepen their understanding of the issue, they created informative display boards explaining the causes of coral bleaching and the solutions being developed to protect coral reefs, including coral restoration projects and the planting of new, more heat-resistant coral species.
As part of a charity cake sale, the students will present their work and raise awareness among their peers about the importance of protecting the Great Barrier Reef. All funds raised will be donated to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
