Many of you attended yesterday's talk by Dr. Justin Coulson, speaker and co-host of the program Parental Guidance. During this discussion, he explored the development of the adolescent brain and addressed the challenges of raising children in a constantly changing society. He also shared valuable advice to help them navigate the complexities of relationships, respect, and personal safety. Dr. Coulson was delighted with the audience's engagement, noting how rare it is to see such interaction and responsiveness during his talks. The final of the Ambassadeurs, Ambassadrices en herbe (AAEEH) competition was held in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together the best young speakers from French institutions abroad. This event, organized by the AEFE (French Association for the Promotion of Public Speaking), highlights the art of speech and debate, offering students a platform to hone their public speaking and argumentation skills.
This year, Clément stood out by securing 3rd place in the category for speakers from 3rd/10th grade, a performance that showcases his eloquence and mastery of speech. On the other hand, Gaïa shone in the role of debate moderator, earning 2nd place for her ability to lead the exchanges and energize the discussions.
This prestigious tournament aims to encourage oral expression and intercultural openness among young Francophones. The performance of all participants highlights the dedication and talent of the students involved in this intellectual and human adventure. Congratulations to them for their success in this grand final!

After several introductory sessions of Oztag in Snape Park and at school, the CE2 students will meet on Friday, April 4 at 8:50 a.m. on Maroubra beach for a big Beach Oztag tournament!
Ten mixed teams will be formed with students from all CE2 classes. A great opportunity for the children to share a fun and sporting moment together.
This tournament is also an opportunity to practice an iconic Australian sport in a unique setting: on the sand and facing the ocean!

The students of the GSC class created a unique piece of art using eucalyptus leaves collected during their outdoor school activity. Inspired by Aboriginal art, they skillfully used Posca markers to bring their colorful and expressive creations to life. This initiative combines creativity and respect for nature, while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Australian artistic traditions.
Our FLSCO teacher Juliette wanted to share her students' photos for Harmony Day. Every year on March 21, Australia celebrates Harmony Day, a day dedicated to cultural diversity, inclusion, and living together. This event highlights the values of respect, equality, and tolerance that make the country so rich.
For the occasion, the children dress in orange, a color symbolizing harmony and understanding between cultures.

As part of Career and Guidance Week, Lycée Condorcet had the honor of welcoming renowned economist Pauline Grosjean for a captivating conference on inequalities and productivity in the labor market, attended by students and teachers. Before her presentation, I had the opportunity to interview her, and here are the key insights from our discussion that particularly stood out to me.
First, her academic and professional journey has given her the opportunity to travel across all continents. A graduate of École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, Pauline Grosjean pursued a PhD at the Toulouse School of Economics before joining the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. She then continued her research in the United States before becoming a professor at the University of New South Wales in Australia.
Her primary research interest focused on development inequalities and the impact of institutions on them. She initially studied income disparities, which led her to explore the historical factors influencing economic evolution. Reflecting on a conflict zone, Professor Grosjean discussed the consequences of the civil war in Central Asia, highlighting the crucial role of trust in economic exchanges:
“All economic exchanges rely on trust. However, during times of war, this trust is destroyed, which has a lasting impact on the economy.”
She then expanded her analysis to gender roles, comparing the situation in France and Australia. Upon arriving in Australia, she focused her research on the historical impact of gender imbalances and their current repercussions, particularly on women’s participation in the labor market. This topic was explored in depth during her conference, sparking great interest among students. Pauline Grosjean specifically addressed the division of domestic labor and its influence on women’s professional competitiveness.
Finally, she shared a valuable piece of advice for young researchers:
“Things change so quickly that it is very difficult to be strategic. Rather than trying at all costs to specialize, it is essential to follow your instincts and choose a field you are passionate about.”
Her conference generated significant enthusiasm among students, especially during the Q&A session, where many questions resonated with concepts covered in social science classes. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Madame Grosjean for her inspiring talk, which helped shed light on critical issues for young students growing up in a world where gender inequalities persist, yet where we hope to see meaningful progress.

Three gold eggs will be hidden before each recess. Once found, the eggs must be handed to a supervisor, who will note the student's name and class.
The hat competition will take place on Friday, April 11. Bring a unique and colorful hat and present yourself to the school office to have your picture taken! The results will be announced by the school office on the notice board on Wednesday, April 16.
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 17 in the Anzac Courtyard at 10:40 a.m.

In their very first participation in the CAPR, LCS made a lasting impression! Our young rugby players gave it their all on the field, and the results speak for themselves:
The U13s achieved a superb 3rd place, climbing the third step of the podium with determination and courage.
The U15s finished in a fine 5th place, after an intense competition in which they never gave up.
Beyond the results, it was an incredible human adventure that our students experienced. Between moments of teamwork, self-improvement, and unforgettable encounters, they return to Sydney with stars in their eyes and memories to cherish.
A first experience that calls for others! The adventure is only just beginning, and the date is already set for CAPR 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. The LCS will return even stronger!

Peter Gitman, Class of 2024, will return to school to present the prestigious UTS Business Co-op Scholarship program, of which he is currently in his first year. This unique program offers a substantial scholarship of $56,000 and a full year of on-the-job training with a wide range of renowned employers over three years.
