(RE)VUE CONDORCET

Year 10 Incursion with Author, John Danalis

The three Year 10 classes had the chance to meet author John Danalis on May 25, who told the students the story of one of his most famous novels. Riding the Black Cockatoo was translated into French in 2021, and is on the one hand the story of a skull that finally finds its land, and on the other it is also the story of a man who becomes aware of the silence that reigns over the heavy history of his country.

With a lot of humor and teary eyes at times, John explained to the students how this adventure changed him. He also told them how it has changed his family, and how he hopes it will change the way his readers view these incredible Aboriginal communities that are still so little known today.

The students in Year 10A share their reactions from this fantastic meeting in this podcast recorded on Thursday, May 26th.
