Dear Parents,
Year 10 students will be in the spotlight at LCS this week. Let’s Create your Start-upis a programme in which the students learn to be entrepreneurs and work on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
Inviting students to reflect about environmental and societal challenges, this project is also an opportunity to develop new skills ahead of their tertiary studies; group work, using your knowledge to take on specific topics, taking on criticism from a jury, and practice their confidence and public speaking.
Parents of the students involved in the project are welcome to attend the event from 3.30 pm in the theatre (limited places available).
There will be more information to come in January, but please save the date 25 January 2023 for a presentation by Laurent Verreckt, the principal of Lycée Montaigne, about the preparatory school with which LCS has entered into a partnership.
We look forward to seeing you this Saturday, 3rd of December, where more than 50 stallholders will present and sell their craft, food and fun!
Kind regards,
Nicolas l’Hotellier,
Proviseur / Principal

LE GRAND-DIRECT AEFE
Who tuned in at 2.50 pm yesterday?
In case you missed out, students in years 5, 6, 7 and 10 participated in the AEFE French Schools Abroad project, 'le Grand direct'. The students participated in a 24-hour network-wide broadcast on the SLFM theme: Staying informed in order to become conscious citizens in a connected world.
We hope you were able to catch the live broadcast, but in case you weren't, click on the image below to have a listen!
EXTENDED BRITISH PROGRAMME X OSCAR WILDE
As part of the year 9 Extended British Programme, students have been learning about creative reading and writing, and have had the task of creating their own graphic novels. The students chose different Oscar Wilde children's stories, and recreated them in the form of graphic novels, or 'comics', in a way that would appeal to, and help simplify the stories' messages for, students in year 2.
The kids worked in groups and used different techniques (watercolour painting, drawing, graphic design, etc.) to create comics that they then read to students in year 2. This also helped them work on their speaking skills!
The year 2 students were in awe, to say the least (as was yours truly), of the amazing talent of our year 9s and the beautiful stories they brought to life.

The LCS science team, including Irène, Sofian, Marie, Olivier, Adi, Nicolas, Jordane, Stephen and David, worked hard to make this theme as accessible and interesting as possible for all audiences.
Click here to discover all the exciting projects and activities that took place during Science Week.
